Just when ya think Chucky can't get any more deranged, he ups the ante and goes to Washington. Remember that exorcism last season? Damballa has abandoned Chucky due to it. No more body swapping for Chucky. He is also aging VERY badly with (liver spots and all). Chucky must get back into Damballa's good graces by increasing his body count. He first tries killing eight people at "The Amityville Horror" house (in Amityville, NY). Not even that place is evil enough to do the trick.
He next masquerades as a doll named Joseph. A boy named Joseph died of cancer recently. His brother is Henry. Henry is the son of the President of the United States James Collins (played by Devon Sawa in his fourth character in the series). Sawa was originally twin brothers Lucas (Jake's father) and Logan. Then he was Father Bryce at the church reform school. Then lastly after James is offed by Chucky, he plays the President's body double Randall Jenkins. This show is worth watching just to see how many times Devon will pop up.
Why is Chucky targeting the White House? The White House is apparently a vortex for evil (given all the decision made there that have killed millions of people). We eventually learn of Chucky's master plan. He wants access to the nukes so he can start WWIII and kill everyone on the planet.
Caroline has been missing since the end of last season. Lexy, Devon, and Jake are searching for her. More on her later. The trio does manage to connect with the President's oldest son Grant (so they can get closer to Chucky).
Meanwhile Tiffany has been captured and is tried for 103 murders. She pleads insanity by saying she's really Tiffany Valentine (trapped in Jennifer Tilly's body). No one buys it and she sentenced to death by lethal injection. She gets her "Voodoo For Dummies" book and some little dolls and starts controlling the prison guards.
Back at the White House, Chucky kills: a secret service agent, the President's secretary, the President (by gouging his eyes out). Warren Pryce then covers up the President's death and calls for a psychic. There are lots of other ghosts hanging around due to the White House's history. Long story short there are more gnarly deaths. Chucky ends up a ghost (it's Brad Dourif who of course is Chucky's voice). Then Jake agrees to have his heart stopped in order to get to Chucky in the afterlife to find out where Caroline is. Chucky tricks him and comes back in his body.
Nica attends Tiffany's executive. She gives Tif a heartfelt message from GG. We dont see GG (Glenn/Glenda) at all this season. Nica still hates Tiffany's guts (and rightfully so).
The kids FINALLY find Caroline at the house of Wendell Wilkins (who is the creator of the Good Guys dolls). It turns out to be John Waters. TOO FUNNY. Tiffany of course arrives. In the end we have Chucky (back in the Chucky prototype doll) and Tiffany (back in the Belle doll) being driven away by Caroline. Jake (who got his body back from Chucky), Devon and Lexy are trapped in doll form. And we have a great setup for a season 4 (but we know this is the end of the series since it was canceled). This definitely isnt the last we've seen of Chucky and company though.
Grade: 4 3/4 Monsters (out of 5). Season 3 is the best in the series IMHO. It's great to see more character development for Chucky (even after all these years). The kills are grotesque and hilariously over the top. The supporting cast continues to be standouts (especially my FAVORITE Jennifer Tilly). We didn't see much this season of Carina London Battrick as Caroline (Lexy's little sister) but, when we do, she knocks it out of the park. It's also great to see Brad Dourif (who has been the voice of Chucky since the beginning). The best episode has Jennifer's IRL friends attending Glenn/Glenda birthday party and all hell breaks loose (because we know it's Tiffany Valentine in Jennifer's body). The "real" Jennifer is locked in a doll's body in the basement and is paying all the bills by typing them out on a tiny little typewriter. This show is hilariously whacko. Unfortunately the TV show has been canceled-- but another movie iis n the works. I'm sure it will be great. In Don Mancini I trust.
