Man vs Wild with Bear Grylls Series Overview

In honor of Bear's new show "Get Out Alive" on NBC, I took a look back at his previous show "Man vs Wild" on the Discovery channel. I've seen most of the 7 seasons worth of shows. They are available on Discovery Channel, Netfix, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, and Amazon Prime. Don't look for there to be more since Discovery terminated Gryllis' contract in 2012 due to a contract dispute.

Synopsis from etrizzle:
Bear Grylls is a seasoned adventurer who served with the Special Air Service, a special forces unit of the British army, where he was trained as a survival expert. His experiences include climbing Mount Everest, crossing the freezing North Atlantic Ocean in a small, open boat and climbing a Himalayan peak described by Sir Edmund Hillary as 'unclimbable'. He has been places and done things that would defeat most normal people. In each episode of Man vs. Wild Bear strands himself in popular wilderness destinations where tourists often find themselves lost or in danger. As he finds his way back to civilization, he demonstrates local survival techniques, including escaping quicksand in the Moab Desert, navigating dangerous jungle rivers in Costa Rica, crossing ravines in the Alps and surviving sharks off Hawaii.

"Man vs Wild" ran for 7 seasons from 2006 through 2011. There were also several specials
(including shows with Will Ferrell in Sweden and Jake Gyllenhaal in Iceland). I have not included all the episodes here but check them out on Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Man_vs._Wild_episodes Memorable episodes include: Bear sleeping IN a camel, escaping from quicksand, and eating a lot of disgusting stuff including maggots. And what's a hiking trip without drinking your urine once in a while?
