In this version of the story, Russell Hornsby is Lincoln (a brilliant ex NYPD detective who is now a paraplegic). He has a gruff temperament and is big hard to take at times. Amelia Sachs (played by Arielle Kebbel) begrudingly becomes Lincoln's eyes and ears in the field thanks to a wearable camera that feeds video back to Lincoln. She is an astute NYPD officer who one day hopes to be a FBI profiler. Amelia is suffering from her own past trauma. They are joined by a familiar face-- Michale Imperioli of "Sopranos" fame. He is Rick Selitto (Lincoln's previous police partner). There's also two crime techs. Handling the forensics is scientist Kate (Brooke Lyons) and Felix is IT guy extraordinaire (Tate Ellington). Lincoln is also assisted by his caregiver Claire (Roslyn Ruff)
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). I really want to like "Lincoln Rhyme". The subject matter is right up my ally. The actors are giving it their all. The production values are high. But after watching three episodes, the pace is a bit lacking. There's too much talking and not enough action. The dialogue is a bit cringe worthy at times. Example "It's turns out the broken take care of the broken". It's all, for lack of a better word, "bland". I dont feel anyone's live's are really in jeopardy. Maybe I'll stop by later and see if my opinions have changed.
