Into The Dark: Down Review: Next Time Take The Stairs

The fifth installment of the Hulu/Blumhouse series centers on a Valentines Day meeting from Hell. Jennifer (Natalie Martinez) and Guy (Matt Lauria) are trapped in an elevator in an empty office building. At first it's all lovey dovey. They get to know each other. They are both attractive, sexy singles after all. They eventually recount titillating stories and have sexy times of their own.

Then everything goes bat shit crazy. I wont ruin the finale for you. Suffice to say, there are a few unexpected occurrences (even though much of the plot is predictable). Also I wish the lead female character made better decisions. She is, at times, practically asking to be murdered. And this situation is why I always take the stairs.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). "Down's" setting is claustrophobic, the actors are compelling and the story has enough twists and turns to keep me interested. This trapped-in-an-elevator story is my favorite episode of "Into The Dark" thus far. Second is "New Year, New You".
