At the beginning of season 3, we see Annalise sobbing outside her burning house. A dead "someone" is being hauled out under a white sheet. Annalise learns the person's identity but we do not. The rest of the season utilizes the show's typical flashback structure to determine who he/she is. In episode 9 were finally learn the truth... and boy is it a shocker.
Frank (who was MIA earlier) is tracked down by Bonnie. They share an intimate night together. He sneaks out on her. Bonnie is obviously upset. Next Frank shows up at Annalise's house. He threatens to kill himself for what he's done (ie causing the death of Annalise's unborn child). She encourages him to do so. Bonnie finally talks him down. What an intense scene!
Later Bonnie tucks a drunk Annalise into bed. She's fallen off the wagon again. Annalise kisses her. Bonnie does not resist. I continue to be extremely confused about the relationships between all these people. I know Bonnie worships Annalise. Bonnie loves Frank. Frank also worships Annalise. Annalise seems jealous when anyone has a relationship that doesnt include her (such as Bonnie and Frank's).
And now for the moment everyone has been waiting. Thanks to an anonymous tip, Annalise is arrested for arson and first degree murder. Her one phone call is to Bonnie. A pregnant Lauren is taken to the hospital unconscious. Is the child Wes's or Frank's? Who cares, right now we want to know who is under the sheet. It turns out to be W-E-S.
I thought from what Shonda and others said that Wes would be safe... apparently NOT! Is it a misdirection? Is he really still alive? Nope, Nate sees his charred body on the ME's examination table. He also learns that Wes was dead BEFORE the fire.
So who's the murderer this time? It's anyone's guess given what we've seen previously. My money is on Bonnie. She has proven that she will do anything for Annalise. Her reaction when we found out Wes was dead seems off. Or maybe that's just her face... who knows? She also had a conversation with Frank about him being the fall guy to save them all. What exactly did that mean?
How will Annalise deal with Wes's death? They always had a special bond even though, like all her relationships, we werent sure exactly what it was. She may be out to get someone big time.
