Uh, You Might Want To Avoid Being Alone With That Woman Will
Elsewhere Bedelia is thriving after her encounter with Lecter. She lectures to a packed house. She says Hannibal slowly brainwashed her into believing she was Lydia Fell. Will and Bedelia have a private conversation.
Its Not Paranoia If Its True
We see flashbacks to Bedelia counseling Neal (Zachary Quinto). We previously thought she had killed him in self defense. Remember Hannibal found her passed out in the floor next to him. It turns out to be a bit more complicated. Neal complains that he is worse instead of better after seeing Hannibal. At some point he begins to choke. Bedelia first looks concerned and tries to help. Then something snaps and she puts her arm (up to the elbow) down her throat. Well, that's one way to unobstruct an airway. Bedelia suggest Will do the same when he encounters Dolarhyde. She says "extreme acts of cruelty require a high level of empathy. The next time you have an instinct to help someone, you might consider crushing them instead. It may save you a great deal of trouble." So Bedelia "went black" long ago. Was she really in fear of Hannibal during their European vacation or was that all an act? Will also continues to struggle with his true nature. Will he cross over to the dark side as well?
Are We Really That Different?
Later Frank (pretending to be a lawyer) calls Hannibal and receives encouragement to continue his murder spree. Hannibal later uses the old gum wrapper in the phone trick (which apparently will NOT work since all phone systems are digital now). It was still fun to watch. Hannibal get Will's home address from Chilton's office. Uh oh.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). There are only 3 episodes left in the series. I especially enjoyed Bedelia's return. She has always been a wild card. I know this half of the season is dedicated to the Red Dragon but I most enjoy the scenes with Bedelia and/or Hannibal.
