ZNation Season 3 Episode 14 Review: Addy Vs The Man

"Duel" was another stand alone episode. This time featuring Addy. While we've seen way too little of Addy this year, this episode didnt accomplish much. Don't get my wrong. Addy is a serious badass that never gives up. It's just the whole time was spent on her either tracking the man or fighting with him over Lucy. It's like the writers didnt have enough else to do so just stretched out what could have been a few scenes.

Here's the basic goings on:

There were some fun moments this week. Lucy leaves severed arms complete with pointing fingers for Addy to track her with. Lucy delightfully sings "You're Gonna Die, They're Gonna Eat You" to The Man OVER and OVER again. Oh and when a zombie princess wants chocolate, you get her chocolate!
Does The Man have some sort of superhuman powers? It appeared at one point that Lucy has driven over him... only to later find him hanging onto the bottom of the car. Maybe Zona injected him with some experimental drug.
The make up department must have had a hoot making Addy look progressively beaten. The poor girl went through the wringer. She almost gets burned up in a boat fire, drowned in a river and repeatedly beaten to a bloody pulp. Addy refuses to go down for the count. The fate of humanity is at stake after all. She even fixes her dislocated shoulder by running full steam into a tree. Ouch!
It appears the undead have some sort of cognitive ability. Lucy keeps calling them by name. She even gets one (in a Grandpa sweater) to show her how to drive a truck. We Can Lucy encourage the Z's to stop eating people? If so, this is a zombie apocalypse game changer.
Lucy has gone through another growth spurt. She's now a teenager and gets her period (which incidentally is blue). A teenage Lucy seems to scare the Man most of all... and I dont blame him.
At the end of a long day, a barely standing Addy reunites with Doc. And off they go again in pursuit of The Man and Lucy.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I'm all for seeing more of Addy but the episode was one long fight with The Man. Bonus points to Anastasia Baranova for "going there" though. Friday is the season finale where we'll hopefully see a showdown between Murphy and Operation Bitemark. The show has also been renewed for a season 4. Thank goodness we have more "Z Nation" to look forward to next year.
