The Walking Dead Episode 15 Recap: Merle Bites The Big One

"This Sorrowful Life" was indeed sorrowful. I never thought in a million years I'd be sad if Merle was killed (especially since I kept suggesting someone off him). Damn you TWD for playing with my emotions!

When we last saw our ragtag group, Rick needed to make a decision on whether to give Michonne to the governor. Why is he so stupid that he thinks that will keep the governor from attacking them?  Anyway Rick changes his mind but too late. Merle and Mich are already gone. For some strange reason, he lets Mich go. Won't that be a little uncomfortable when she gets back to the prison? Errr sorry we planned to sacrifice you. Our bad.

Merle leads a bunch of zombies to the rendezvous spot. They get a few of the Woodbury guys. The governor gets Merle though. First he rips off some fingers and then shoots him point blank. Next Darryl finds Zombie Meryl chomping on someone. He has to put him down and is understandable very upset.

Other thoughts:
  • Did Merle think he was going to kill the governor or was he just trying to cause as much damage as possible? He obviously knew he wasn't getting out of there alive.
  • I think its time for Team Rick to bug out. They have been at the prison far too long. Its getting to be a stale locale. If they leave now maybe they can get far enough ahead of the governor that he'll get bored and leave them alone.
  • My guess is either Maggie or Glen will be killed soon. When people get happy, they die on this show. How Glenn acquired the engagement ring was inventive. That zombie wasn't using it. I hope he washed it off first.
  • Ghost Lori shows up again. If she's going to keep hanging around give her a gun and put her on sentry duty.
  • There were lots of fun zombie kills this week-- zombie stomping, zombie finger amputating, and zombie decapitating (when Mich wraps the wire around the pole and the zombie's neck).
  • I suppose Andrea is still tied to that chair since we didn't see any of her this week.
  • Predictions on who will die in the season finale: http://www.mlive.com/tv/index.ssf/2013/03/the_walking_dead_blog_why_rick.html

Grade: 5 Monsters (out of 5). Another perfect show in my opinon. I cant wait till the season finale next week.
