The Returned Episodes 6-7 Recaps: Lucy and Adele

And I've said it before but I seriously think "The Returned" is the best thing currently on television. The story really pulls you in. I MUST find out what happened to these people. Below are the recaps from Wikipedia for "Lucy" and "Adele" (since it provides a much better overview than I could). What new info did we learn from these two episodes?
  • There are lots more Revenants that we initially suspected.
  • The dead seem to be decomposing a little.
  • No one can leave the town (as is evident by Julie and Laure's trip over the dam three times and Serge and Toni trying to escape the woods but ending up at the same place).
  • How did Lucy become the ringleader? What's she got that's so special? I'm just not seeing it. What does Madame Costa really know? She seems very smug all the time. And someone elsewhere suggested that the reason Ms Costa keeps tells people different stories about how she died is... because she died three different times--Starved was her first death. Burglary was the same night Victor was killed. Fire was when Mr Costa set fire to the house. That makes for a very interesting theory.
  • Where did Serge go when he and Toni were swimming across the lake? They cant just disappear like that, can they?
  • Is Victor evil or is he just a little boy who cant control the visions he brings to life (such as Julie reliving Serge's attack or Adele appearing to have killed herself in front of Chloe)?
  • What is the significance of the Revenants not being able to sleep?
  • And someone better keep an eye on Pierre since he's way too anxious for the Rapture to begin. Hey I'm a prepper too but he's crossed the line into weirdo.
  • I'm still going with the theory that everyone in town in really dead and that they all died when the original town was flooded. They either drowned or starved to death (and that's why when the dead return, they're all very hungry). Everyone is stuck in some type of purgatory because they have unfinished business.

Episode 6 "Lucy"
Lucy wakes up from a coma in hospital, having miraculously healed all injuries. Camille's friends, realizing that "Alice" is in fact Camille, open her coffin to find there is no body, but that it is full of water. Pierre organizes a meeting with the parents of other children killed in Camille's school bus accident to reveal Camille's return. Simon wakes up in the hospital morgue, his bullet wound completely healed, and meets with Lucy before leaving together. Victor returns to Julie's care, and finds his arm has begun to show marks similar to those of Léna. Camille finds purpose when she decides to invent images of an afterlife to comfort her friend's parents, but they commit suicide in the hopes of meeting their son sooner. Léna grows closer to Serge, but flees after Toni shoots a gendarme to protect his brother; hiding in the forest, she discovers a large group of Revenants standing round a fire.

Episode 7 "Adele"
Pierre shows Claire his shelter stocked with food and firearms, believing that the appearance of the Revenants marks the end of days. Lucy appears to have gained understanding regarding the purpose of the Revenants, and persuades Simon that he no longer needs Adèle; Father Jean-François' betrayal of him to the Gendarmerie only pushes him further to her. Serge and Toni attempt to track Léna, and Toni glimpses his deceased mother in the forest. While trying to cross the lake by swimming, Serge disappears under the water. Léna finds her way to the shelter, and helps Camille cover up marks that have appeared on her face. Simon also finds marks and decaying flesh on his stomach. Laure and Julie reignite their relationship, and attempt to leave with Victor, but are bewildered to find they cannot leave the town, despite driving in the same direction; their journey has taken them over the dam at least three times, trapping them in town. Lucy finds a large group of as-yet unseen Revenants in the bar, and welcomes them.

Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). It doesn't get any better than this show.
