The Wiz is eventually shot and killed by Jane... good riddance. Though I'm NOT sorry to see Frank go, I am surprised they killed him off. Anywho, Jane tells Dorothy she is her daughter. Jane promises Dorothy she will return to Kansas in the tornado with her but instead stays behind to activate the sequence.
While many questions were answered during the finale, many more were raised:
- Is the guy with no skin in the Prison Of The Abject the true "Beast Forever"? He's got wings so I'm thinking "yep". Especially since some big winged thing has arrived in Emerald City. That would be an interesting twist. The whole time they were fighting over science vs magic, the true enemy was waiting in the background.
- The story of Langwidere (Queen Ev) was dropped after she was revealed to be a robot built by Jane. She and Jack need to get together and have robot babies.
- What happened to Tip's wanting to be a boy? Does he have to give up his self identity in order to rule Oz?
- I thought Lucas/Roan would play a bigger part in the finale. We barely see him. Lucas and Dorothy need their happy ending.
- Where is Glinda and West's mother? I thought we might meet her after it was revealed she was "making" witches for Glinda.
- Did Ojo survive? It seems his wife Nahara was a goner but did the guy without skin heal him?
- Will West and Glinda put their differences aside and finally get on the same team?
Favorite Quotes from "No Place Like Home":
- "We are not the Beast Forever, you fool!"- Glenda to the Wiz.
- "My mind is clear. My tongue is right. I will not let another of our kind die."- West to Glinda.
- Dorothy: "You've come to bring me back?" Lucas: "I've come to bring you home."
Grade: 5 Monsters (out of 5). Perfection. The acting, the writing, the cinematography, the costumes, the special effects are all superb. To hell with the critics! I just LOVE "Emerald City". In fact, it's one of my two most favorite new television shows of 2017 (along with "Travelers"). Will it get a season 2? I DESPERATELY want to see more of West, Ozma, Glinda Dorthy, and Lucas. Based on the low ratings, I fear the answer is "no". Perhaps it could find a more suitable home....maybe NexFlix?
