Roswell New Mexico Premiere Review: These Are Not The Aliens I'm Looking For

"Roswell New Mexico" recently premiered on the CW. Two episodes have aired thus far. It's based on the "Roswell High" book series by Melinda Metz. A previous version "Roswell" aired from 1999 to 2002 on The WB/UPN (which I didn't see).

The two main characters are Liz Ortecho and Max Evans. She has begrudgingly returned to her hometown. Unknown to Liz, her high school crush is now sheriff. Max has an even bigger surprise. He, along with two others (his sister Isobel and friend Michael), are aliens hiding in plain sight. Their spaceship crashed in Roswell in 1947. How many more are hiding on Earth? There's a mystery about Liz's sister's death. Were the aliens responsible? What is the government up to?

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). "Roswell New Mexico" isnt bad per se. The two leads have good chemistry and everyone is young and attractive. The story just isnt very interesting to me. In a super crowded TV market, there's not enough here to keep me coming back for more.
