"The UnXplained With William Shatner tackles the mysteries of life is fun bite sized segments. They cover the gambit-- from UFOs to cryptids to mysterious places. Shatner acts as host and serves up the compelling questions. Many times he ends his segment with "that's what we're here to find out". Experts chime in on the various topics. Haven't we seen some of these people on"Ancient Aliens"?.
The show first aired in 2019. There are currently six season available. The first 5 are on Discovery+ and Hulu. Tubi has season 1 to 2. NetFlix has 3 and 4.
Season 1 contains 16 episodes: Some of my favorite segments are listed below.
- Evil Places
- Mysterious Structures- Lalibela, Coral Castle, stone spheres of Costa Rica
- Strange Creatures- Mothman, Mongolian Death Worm
- Unnatural Nature- Centralia PA coal mine fire, Yellowstone supervolcano
- Bizarre Rituals
- Life Beyond Death- acquired savant syndrome
- Mysteries of the Mind
- Incredible Survivors
- The Oak Island Curse- apparently one more person has to die before the treasure is revealed?
- Dark Prophecies
- Lost Civilizations
- Deadly Cults
- Extreme Weather Mysteries
- Mysterious Stones- Black stone of Mecca
- Vampires and Werewolves
- Amazing Animal Abilities- cetacean intelligence
Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). Lots of fast paced segments cover a variety of interesting topics. Just dont expect many answers. This show is for entertainment purposes only-- not for a deep dive on any one subject. It is, after all, named "The UnXplained". William Shatner's narration is an added bonus to an already intriguing show.
