The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 5: Its Time For A Long Nap

"The Walking Dead" takes a well deserved break in "Now". Rick (who was last seen in a RV surrounded by walkers) runs up yelling "open the gate". We still don't know what's up with his injured hand. Sasha, Abraham, and Darryl are still zombie wrangling. Enid jumped the wall and is MIA. Miichonne, Heath and What's His Name made it back right ahead of Rick.

The horde of zombies amass outside the town's walls. So far they are holding but for how long? The Alexandrians seem resigned to their fate and decided to raid the food pantry. How about raiding the armory and getting some weapons to defend yourself? Doesnt that sound like a better idea? I guess not. At least some of the residents get a little action. Rick and Jessie share a kiss in the garage. Denise plants one on Tara as well.

Deanna comes to the realization that she's no longer the best leader for the community... Rick is. Can someone please tell that poor woman how to kill a zombie? Stabbing it in the chest repeatedly doesnt work.

Aaron confesses to everyone that it's his fault the Wolves attacked (since they found the pictures in the backpack he left). The names of the dead (including Glenn) are written on the retainer wall. Maggie doesnt believe Glenn is dead (and neither do I). She plans to leave to search of him or at least find his body. Aaron joins her as they travel through a drainage tunnel. I vote everyone use this as a  escape route... but no one asked my opinion.

They encounter a few slimy walkers. Zombies and water dont mix well. One is close to biting Maggie when Aaron stabs it in the head. The path is blocked by zombies. Maggie has a little breakdown and confesses she cant leave anyway because she's... wait for it.. she's pregnant. No surprise big. We all already guessed that.

And in the final scene a crack (or something) is visible in one of the walls keeping back the horde. Uh oh. I suggest you follow my advise and head to the tunnel.

Potential Threats:
  • Ron- That kid is bad news. Keep your eye on him.
  • The wolf that Morgan locked up- Morgan should have killed him right away.
  • Enid- Was she a secret spy all along?
  • Walkers- Remember everyone. There are lots of ZOMBIES right outside the wall. There is no time for dilly dallying.

Grade: 3 1/2 Monster (out of 5). A slower episode but I'm not complaining. These poor people need a breather once in a while. The rest of the season has been FANTASTIC. There are only three episodes left this year. Will we see Glenn (hopefully NOT as a zombie) by then?
