WARNING: This article contains major spoilers. If you haven't watched these shows turn back now or face the consequences.
1. Kate Siegel- Theo Crane- "The Haunting Of Hill House"- In a TV series that is perfect in every way, Theo continues stand out among the Crane children. Sure she's prickly but that is just a mask for the extreme emotional pain she is in. Kate Siegel plays the character excellently. I just wish we could see more of Theo. "The Haunting Of Hill House" is currently available on NetFlix. See my reviews here
2. Amy Adams- Camille Parker- "Sharp Objects"- This HBO series is about a severely emotionally disturbed woman who returns to her hometown to investigate a series of child murders. Watching Amy Adam's performance is quite painful at times. "Sharp Objects" is currently available on HBO. See my reviews here
3. Patricia Clarkson- Adora Crellin- "Sharp Objects"- The cause of much of Camille's pain is her relationship with her mother. Patricia Clarkson is excellent in the role of a woman who is severely flawed and deadly. Truly frightening. "Sharp Objects" is currently available on HBO. See my reviews here
4. Carrie Coon- Vera Walker- "The Sinner"- Carrie Coon is excellent in everything she does and "The Sinner" is no exception. Here she plays a cult leader who want her "son" back. Something is simmering right below the surface in this show (and we cant wait to see what it is). "The Sinner" is currently available on the USA Network. See my reviews here
5. Sissy Spacek- Ruth Deaver- "Castle Rock"- Spacek delivers a heartbreaking performance as a woman struggling with dementia. Episode 7 "Queen" is a master acting class. "Castle Rock" is currently available on Hulu. See my reviews here
6. Danielle Brooks- Taystee/ Tasha Jefferson- "Orange Is The New Black"- Danielle expertly depicts a woman trapped by society. There seems to be no way out for Taystee, no matter what she does. "OITNB" is currently available on NetFlix. See my reviews here
7. Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer- Eve Polastri and Villanelle/ Oksana Astankova,- "Killing Eve"- Yes, this is a twofer since one cant exist without the other. Villanelle is an international assassin. Eve is a low level MI5 agent. She becomes increasingly obsessed with tracking down the killer. We're not sure if she wants to kill her, kiss her or both. And that's what makes the show so fun. "Killing Eve" is currently available on BBC America. See my reviews here
8. Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell- Waverly Earp and Nichole Haught- "Wynonna Earp"- Another twofer but I dont want to think about either of these characters without the other. These two ladies sizzle on screen. Their love and commitment to each other are relationship goals. Can there be any doubt at this point that "Wayhaught" is end game? I think not. "Wynonna Earp" is currently available on SyFy. See my reviews here
9. Gal Gadot- Diana/Prince/Wonder Woman- "Wonder Woman". Yes, this is a movie and not a TV series but Gal Gadot's performance is so compelling, it cant be ignored. In a so-so DC universe, she is a total standout. "Wonder Woman" is currently available on HBO, Amazon, Google Play, etc. See my review here
10. Aubrey Plaza- Lenny Brusker- Legion- Aubrey is compelling to watch in everything she does. Her interpretation of Lenny is a breath of fresh air. I cant wait to see what season 3 has in store for us. "Legion" is currently available on FX. See my reviews here
