Dark Mirror: Bandersnatch Review: More Of This Please

"Black Mirror's" latest offering is currently available on NetFlix. "Bandersnatch" is different from everything you've seen previously. It's a "choose your own adventure" experience. Viewers must intermittently select from two options. This determines the direction of the story.

We meet a young 1980s programmer named Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead).  Stefan has lots of problems. His mother passed away when he was young. He sees a psychiatrist to try to deal with his feelings. His long suffering father encourages his son but it doesnt work well. Stefan attempts to turn the adventure book "Bandersnatch" into a video game. He tries to join a gaming company called Tuckersoft in order to release the game.

We see the possible paths Stefan might take. Many sites have done extensive research on the story.  There are five possible endings (and a bonus one). I wont go into specifics. Check out IGN's wiki for detailed info here The bonus ending is here I personally got the "jumping off the balcony" dead end and later "NetFlix's action sequence" which offers the "exit to credits" option.

Grade: 5 Monsters (out of 5). While the 1980s video game creator story didnt particularly interest me, "Bandersnatch" gets extra credit for it's groundbreaking structure. I hope in the future all movies offer similar options. How much fun would that be?
