ZNation Season 3 Episodes 5-11 Reviews: Zombie Tea Party (And No, It's Not A Political Thing)

Operation BiteMark breaks into several smaller groups for these episodes. Addy and Doc run into Sketchy and Skeezy in a hilarious election episode. Next they're off to find baby Lucy. The plan is to use her as ammo against Murphy. They eventually locate the girl (who has aged rapidly).  She's also very blue (like her daddy). Addy and Doc are forced to have a tea party. They also play hide and seek with Lucy, her zombie playmates and Ma and Pa Kettle. Kudos to the costume/special effects departments for their great work.

Lovin' Is Hard During The ZA

Meanwhile Roberta and Hector run into a scary bunch that is supposedly lead by E-Scopion. That's funny since E-Scorpion is actually Hector. When we meet the Red Hand's E-Scorpion it turns out to be Vasquez. Well, that explains where he's been all this time.  The poor guy has lost his mind. Warren kisses and then stabs Javier in order to save Hector. That was painful to watch. She definitely has the feels for him. At the North Pole Citizen Z and Kaya arent doing much except trying to make contact with Operation Bitemark.

Murphy is busy building his nation of blends. 10K escapes, is found by Doc in a mental hospital and then ends up back with Murphy again. Oh and dont call him "10K' anymore. He's now going by "Thomas". Murphy attempts to turn him into a blend with limited success. At the end of the episode King Murph sends Thomas on some mission. I fear it's to kill Warren.

Still Planning To Take Over The World

The Man takes Lucy from Doc and Addy. There's going to be hell to pay since Murphy knows he mistreated her (due to some sort of father/daughter zombie psychic connection).

The Murphy Family

While I continue to enjoy "Z Nation", splitting the group up is a mistake IMHO. This is the same approach as "The Walking Dead" this season. It has drug the pace of the show down to a c-r-a-w-l. Both groups are strongest when they're together and working towards a common goal. Also we've seen way too little of Addy this season. What's up with that? Does she have another gig? She's one of my more favorites.

The Good Old Days

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). While there are many positives about "Z Nation" they're currently struggling with the same structural issues as "TWD". Breaking the group into smaller teams with side missions slows the story down considerably. We need another road trip to bring everyone together. Or at the very least to have everyone in one place. With only four episodes to go till the finale, hopefully it will soon. It looks like Doc is captured by cannibal ladies next week.
