Incorporated Episodes 6-10 Reviews: Golden Parachute (Season Finale)
We've reached the end of SyFy's "Incorporated". Somehow our hero has managed to avoid discovery. Ben Larson is actually an imposter from the Red Zone named Aaron Sloane. He's in search of his childhood sweetheart Elena (who is now a high class escort for Spiga).
Ben and Laura's marriage is at time frayed. Is he just with her to climb the corporate ladder? Laura's mom Elizabeth (played by Julia Ormond) is a big wig at Spiga.
Ben uses Everclear to wipe his memories so he can pass a security check. He then blackmailed his old Red Zone pal Hendrick to bring them back. Ben trades the program to Inazagi in exchange for safe passage for two people-- he and Elena. He instead lets Hendrick and his daughter Hazel take their place. Ben will try again later. What he doesnt know is that Elena has a plan up her sleeve. She and a maid are conspiring to seek revenge against Spiga for their poor treatment.
We also finally learn what happened to Laura that is caused her PTSD. She went to the Red Zone for a girl's night out and was kidnapped for ransom. Things go terribly wrong and her ear is cut off. Luckily Spiga has excellent health benefits and it's looks good as new.
Laura eventually faces her fear and goes back to the Red Zone to set up a much needed clinic (she's a doctor). Her mother tries to stop her but Laura stands firm. This is where she is truly needed.
In a side story, boxer Theo is forced to work for Terrence. He fights to the death after taking the drug Rage. He then meets the sister of the man he killed. She is in some sort of religious group and tries to convince Theo to let go of all desire. To be honest, I didnt care much about this story line. Theo eventually gives up Ben though (in order to keep Terrence from killing Anthony).
In the final scenes of "Golden Parachute", Laura learns she's pregnant. Does she want a baby now?. The couple moves into the Petersons home. Remember Ben set up Chad to take the fall for him. The realtor lists all the perks of the home (including a heated swimming pool). Ben and Laura are both living a lie but each seems tough and cunning enough to keep it up... at least for a while. Ben now has a job on the 40th floor at Senior VP of Counter Intelligence. How ironic.
Grade: 3 3/4 Monsters (out of 5). Is "Incorporated" the best sci fi show I've ever seen? Nope, but it did have some interesting characters and sci fi elements. And with only 10 episodes it's a quick watch. If there is a season 2, Ben faces threats from all sides-- Elena, Terrence, Spiga and possibly even Laura. The guy has a complicated life.
