Breaking Bad Episode 13 Recap: Tohajiilee (Or It Is SOOOOO NOT Over Bitch)

The title of this episode is "To'hajiilee" which is an Indian reservation west of town where Walt has his money stashed (and where he and Jesse first cooked together). The location coordinates are 34 59 20 106 36 52.

Walt is all in with killing Jesse at this point but he wants it be "humane" (if that is even possible). "I want what you do to be quick and painless…no suffering, no fear" he says. In exchange for offing Jesse, Todd (who always politely refers to Walt as Mr. White) and the Nazis want Walt to get back in the business one last time (but just long enough to show them how to cook the blue stuff). Todd and Jacks meth is only 76% pure and is not blue. In a somewhat related note, Todd has the hots for Lydia.

Walt goes to Andrea's house. I was worried that he was going to try to hold them hostage or poison them. Notice that Brock was very apprehensive of Walt (probably because he wasn't sure what he was up to either and he remembers that he poisoned him once before). Andrea says she doesn't know where Jesse is but calls him for Walt. The Nazis wait outside Andrea's for Jesse but he never shows.

The call to the Hello Kitty phone is intercepted by Hank instead. Saul tells Walt that Huell is also missing. Its because Hank has him as well. Hank tricks Huell (by showing him a fake dead picture of Jesse) into telling him he loaded the loot into barrels for Walt. Now they just have to find out where the money is and lure Walt to it.

Jesse calls Walt saying he found his money stash in the barrels and threatens to burn it all up unless Walt gets there right away. He taunts Walt with "Got my photo, bitch?"

Walt frantically drives into the desert confessing all along the way (let's hope they were recording that). But it was of course a setup. Thanks to the GPS in the phone, Walt has lead them straight to his stash. Smart going Walt! Walt hides behind a boulder as Hank, Gomez and Jesse arrive with guns drawn. He calls Jack and the Nazis and gives them his coordinates but later tells them to stand down.

Walt surrenders. Is it because he doesn't want there to be any more bloodshed? If not, he could have shot them before they knew where he was. Hank handcuffs him and reads him his rights. There is a scuffle between Jess and Walt. He calls Walt a coward and spits in his face. For a second I thought that was all a show for Gomez and Hank and that Walt and Jesse had planned something together. So far it's not looking like it though.

Hank then takes time to call Marie and say "it's over" and "I love you". Uhhh, Hank are you STUPID or what? Don't you know whenever anyone says "it's over" in a show, it is SOOO not over? And sure enough here come the Nazis. And could you possibly think about taking some cover when all those cars approach? I guess not.

Walt is frantically yelling to Jack to stop again and again but no one is listening to him. This is why I believe he doesn't want there to be any more bloodshed. The last scene has everyone shooting at each other but so far no one is down. There have to be at least a few fatalities from this scene. My guess is it will be some minor supporting Nazis and Hank's sidekick Gomez. But on the other hand, Hank's call to Marie seemed a little too sweet not to be a set up... so maybe they'll off Hank too?

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). The first 3/4 of the show was slow but the last 1/4 was seriously kick ass. Only 3 episodes to go till the end. What do you think is going to happen?
