I Can See Canada From Here
"Gracepoint" aired on Fox on Thursday 10/2/14. There will be eight episodes total. It's a remake of the British series "Broadchurch" (which I did not see). Interestingly the lead actor in the British series (David Tennant) also plays the same character (Emmett Carver) in the US version. Anna Gunn of "Breaking Bad" fame is the other lead and plays Ellie Miller.
As the episode begins we see a boy at the top of a cliff. Later he is found dead on the beach below. Did he commit suicide or did someone kill him? It appears that everyone in the small coastal town of Gracepoint could be a suspect. I have seen Gracepoint described as being in the Pacific Northwest and/or California. So I have no idea exactly where it is but from my vantage point, it's somewhere WAY OVER THERE.
Ellie arrives to work. She's a police officer. She was supposed to get a promotion to detective but instead it was given to outsider Emmett. That doesnt make much sense since Ellie is a local and knows all the townsfolk (so has lots of connections). Anyway, the two begrudgingly work together to try to solve young Danny Solano's death.

So who's your guess as to the culprit thus far? We have Ellie's son Tom acting very suspiciously. He deleted a number of messages from his phone and apparently wiped out the entire C drive on his PC. Could one or both of Danny's parents be the killers? Maybe it's Nick Nolte... just because he's Nick Nolte. How about the reporter with questionable ethics? There's a smorgasbord of other characters to chose from.
