Brace Yourself Kiddies!
Curse number 157 (officially known as the "curse of shattered sight") has been activated by the Snow Queen. At sundown the residents of Storybrooke will rip each other limb from limb. Emma and Elsa are immune because of their magical yellow wrist ribbons.
That Thing Looks Like It Could Give Ya Black Lung
Rumple makes a deal with the Snow Queen. He wont make her life miserable if she lets Rumple, Belle and Henry escape. My guess is Henry wont want to go with Grandpops. Or he'll want to take his two moms and his other grandparents (ie the Charmings) with them. This wont make Rumple happy.
The citizens work on an escape plan. First they try to find a way out of town (but remember there's that nasty ice barrier). They cant get over the wall but Elsa does find Anna's necklace. How convenient.
Next the fairies and Belle work on an anti-curse to help them escape. Lots of beaker, colored water and cooking is involved. Rumple sends Hook to Granny's Dinner to trap all the fairies in the sorcerer's hat. Fairy Hater!
Quickly Fly Away Blue. Oops, Too Late.
Elsa is busy looking for her sister but there's a problem. The fairies want to use the glass from the necklace for their counter-curse but that will destroy the necklace in the process. Elsa does a fake out and gives them some pebbles instead. Let's face it. She doesnt care about Storybrooke. She just wants her sister back. Who can blame her? These townsfolk are weird.
And They Lived Happily Ever After...For The Next Ten Minutes
Flashback to Arendelle where Anna and Kristoff are unfrozen. She finds a golden straw and determines that its Rumple who has Elsa. Even Kristoff admits that's a big conclusion to draw from one tiny straw. Here comes evil Prince Hans and his soldiers/brothers/whatever. He's all like "I'm the boss now". A & K escape and decide to purchase a Wishing Star from Blackbeard...cause I guess thats a reasonable thing to do. Prince Hans is two steps ahead of them and is conspiring with BB all along. Anna and Kristoff are left to drown (in the exact same spot as her parents). How did they know the exact location? Whatever. Anna wants to marry Kristoff before they die. I'll admit that was touching. I'm a sucker for "lovers in peril" scenes.
Just when things look their darkest, Elsa breaks through the mine wall to the beach. No, I dont know how that works. She wishes on the necklace and Anna and Kristoff emerge from the water in a foot locker. Remember, Blackbeard said previously that the Wishing Star only works when someone is of pure heart (so I guess Elsa is). There is a happy, huggy reunion. Emma and I are confused as to what exactly happened. But everyone is back together and that's all that matters.
I Want The Hell Away From These Crazy People!
Rumple announces Hook will be dead by morning. Hook goes to tell Emma goodbye and they share a kiss. Have I mentioned that those two have ZERO chemistry together?
Sorry, Dont See It. Now Regina On The Other Hand...
Everyone locks themselves away to keep from harming each other. Snow and Charming are locked in adjoining cells. Emma has Baby Neal. Henry is locked inside Regina's old office. Regina locks herself in her vault. We know what can happen when she goes to the dark side. In the final scene we see the glass shards coming in through the air conditioning vents and hitting Kristoff and Anna and Snow and David's eyes. Uh oh. Has anyone tried goggles? They have cheap ones at Home Depot. And the Storybrooke chemistry department should have a few pairs. I have some in my bug out bag for just such emergencies.
Watching These Two Lovebirds Try To Kill Each Other Will Be Entertaining
Points To Ponder:
- Will they be able to tell a difference in LeRoy (ie Grumpy) after the curse? He normally hates everyone.
- When Regina told Robin that only he and Henry believe in her, didnt she forget about the preceding three seasons where Emma REPEATEDLY said she believed in her? And this season Emma said she wouldnt rest until Regina got her happy ending. Emma also said Regina was the only person that truly understood her. How quickly they forget. OUAT writers, give us some credit for actually watching this show!!!
- Is poor Elsa ever going to get a change of clothes? I dig the blue dress but it's gotta be pretty stinky by now.
- Will Baby Neal attack everyone after the curse? I like the idea of a baby wreaking havoc on the townsfolk.
- The reunion between Charming, Kristoff and "Joan" was a fun one. Everyone discussed their haircuts.
- Have you noticed that all the curses on this show are slow moving? That gives the residents time to run around, scream, and wax poetic about how much they love each other.
- And yes Arendelle was frozen some 30 years ago but now it and Maine are in the same timeline so go figure.
- So is the mine under the library next to the beach? I'm so confused. My brain hurts.
- I cant wait for Evil Cleavage to slap some people around next week!
