Once Upon A Time Season 4 Episode 11 Recap: The Ending Is All Wrong

The "Shattered Sight" curse is in full swing this week as everybody hates anybody they previously loved. Snow and Charming are going at it in the sheriff's office. Snow calls him a shepherd. David says he's not sure Baby Neal is even his. Too funny! Regina locks herself inside her vault to keep her fellow citizen safe. I would like to point out here that the first person Regina thinks of post-curse is not Robin but instead Emma... just saying.

Welcome Back Evil Cleavage. My, How I Have Missed You!

Elsa and Emma are immune thanks to their lovely yellow wrist ribbons (but they also prevent them from stopping the curse). So off the two go to find someone who has stronger magic (and that of course is Regina). Why cant we have a whole show of just the Evil Queen waltzing around in her FABULOUS costumes sneering at everyone? Now that would be good TV watching!

Anyway, Emma baits EQ by saying she brought Marian back on purpose and that she's flaunting her relationship with Hook in front of her. Regina throws a fireball their way and it incinerates the yellow ribbons. And the next part of the plan is to... run like hell!

What I Wouldnt Give To Change Places With This Sword (No I Dont Mean That In A Sexual Way... Well Maybe A Little)

EQ ends up at the sheriff's office. She let's Snow out of her cell. They have a sword fight complete with Snow throwing Regina though a glass door. Good times. Charming looks on since he enjoys a good girl fight as much as the rest of us.

Emma and Ingrid are over at the Snow Queen's place. Ingrid tells them she has been saving the good memories she stole in two purple stones (cause isnt that where you keep your memories)? I know I do. Flashback time-- we see young Emma and Ingrid having a great time at the carnival. They do love each other. Then Ingrid gets all whackadoodle and throws Emma in front of a car. Yep, time to go.

Can Someone PLEASE Hug Ingrid?

Next Anna comes barreling into the snow cave. Why can everyone find this place but Regina? Remember Anna and Kristoff were transported to the beach when Regina started battling Snow. On the shore Anna found a letter her mother wrote and put in a bottle right before she died. Oh yeah and Anna previously hit Kristoff over the head with said bottle knocking him unconscious. Anyway, Ingrid learns that her sister Gerda really did love her and regrets putting her in the urn.

Yes Love Conquers All But You're Still Dead

Ingrid realizes what she has done and reverses the spell by absorbing it back into herself (thus dying from a thousand tiny ice shards). Emma and Elsa regain their memories and look on sadly but do nothing to stop her. We see the three sister again reunited in Ingrid's dream... cause she's dead. Curse closed. Uh, wasnt that a quick wrap up on a season long arc? Plus I'm pissed that Elizabeth Mitchell is gone.

And They Lived Happily Ever After... Until The Next Curse (Which Should Arrive In About 10 Minutes)

Group hug for everyone that's still alive. Regina and Snow and David laugh a lot but Regina doesnt hug them... cause that would be just too much. She does say "what am I wearing" (which is really funny).

Meanwhile lets not forget about Rumple. He's still intent to escape the power of the dagger and to get Belle and Henry the hell out of town. Oh yeah, and he still wants to kill Hook. How could I forget about Hook? Well, its actually pretty easy.

That's how the episode really went but here's what I think should have happened:

Ingrid tries to absorb the curse back into herself but Emma stops her saying "we really need a good ice cream shop in Storybrooke". Emma instead uses her magic to reverse the curse and divert it into the magic hat (thus also ruining Rumple's plans). Ingrid lives happily ever after with her "sisters" although she tries to be less OCD about her love for them. Stop smothering lady!
Kristoff and Anna start a reindeer ranch in Storeybrooke.
Elsa finally gets some new clothes. She decides she really, really likes hoodies.
Something heavy (like a building) falls on Hook.
Robin Hood and his Merry Men never return to town. They instead decide to set up camp in Portland.
Snow and Charming go to marriage counseling. Snow has a paternity test to confirm that Baby Neal is indeed Davids.
Rumple is still stuck in Storeybrooke. He immediately starts on Plan #763 to get out of town. Belle decides to write a best selling novel of their adventures. She hopes Angelina Jolie will play her.
Henry tricks Regina and Emma into spending more time alone together. To be continued...

Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). I only gave the show such a high rating because of Elizabeth Mitchell. I love her but hopefully not in the same obsessive way she loved her "sisters". I really didnt expect she'd survive the curse and join the cast but still. Also I wish they had spent more time on the residents fighting with each other. There were lots of missed opportunities but the Snow/Regina battle was great.
