Into The Dark: I'm Just F%$king With You Review: Has Potential But Hits A Brick Wall

"Into The Dark's" April entry deals with April Fool's Day. This time around Hulul/Blumhouse gives us the story of Larry. He's suffering because his ex is getting married. We also learn that he's a vicious internet troll (screen name ProgrammingFlaw3489). Larry (Keir O'Donnell) is not a very likeable guy.

He checks into the Pink Motel and Lounge. There Larry encounters an even more obnoxious guy-- motel manager Chester Conklin (Hayes MacArthur). He likes to play practice jokes that go too far. His catch phrase is "I'm just f%^king with ya". Chester has some serious social issues.

Larry should run screaming away. Alas, he does not because his sister Rachel (Jessica McNamee) is expected to arrive soon.

As the night progresses, the show takes a darker turn. What started out as seemingly innocent pranks get darker and darker. Soon Larry and Rachel are fighting for their lives. The show does pick up here but I'm already disinterested. Chester posts Larry's "confession" on the Internet for all to see. People pounce on him. Is this much different from how Larry has treats others? Not by much. I wont give away the ending but it is "appropriate" in my book.

Grade: 3 Monsters (out of 5). "I'm Just F%^ing With You" has a solid premise but the pacing of the 80 minute show seems off. None of these characters are very likeable (so when Larry has to fight for his life I dont really care). Let's hope next month's "Into The Dark" entry is better.
