We see a brief happy moment. Carol gathers ingredients to make cookies. It would be any normal day (except for the walker who bleeds all over her clean blouse). Carol delivers the delicious beet and acorn cookies to the townsfolk. Apparently there's no shortage of Tupperware during the zombie apocalypse. Also, who are those other people? I dont remember seeing other kids. Carol pauses for a moment. We later see she's looking at Sam's grave. She still blames herself for his death (and is haunted by nightmares). She even sides with Morgan at one point. What's gotten into her? She used to be a take-no-prisoners-bad-ass. I fear this means they're going to kill off Carol.
Morgan, Dr Denise and I think Eugene hang back while the others head out. Tara later confesses her feelings about Denise to Jesus. I worry this means Tara too will be zombie bait. PS "TWD" is not doing such a great job of hiding the fact that Tara is preggers IRL. But hey, what are ya gonna do. They cant exactly say that a confirmed lesbian found a sperm donor in Alexandria.
- Shouldnt Rick have done some recon on the Savior's hideout BEFORE attacking it? Yes, one of the Hilltoppers gave him the basic layout but they still have no idea how many people are there? Or who Negan is? Or how many weapons they have? The attack seemed very foolhardy to me.
- Shouldnt some of the dead Saviors turn into zombies (or did they all get stuck in the head)?
- Did you notice a familiar head when they were picking a Gregory look-alike? The head on the right was Johnny Depp. Haaa, that's one way to make a cameo. Did he get paid for that?
- Where can I get some beet and acorn cookies? Or is that really a thing?
- Why is Maggie so stupid? And why is Carol the only one worried about a pregnant woman being on a dangerous mission?
- Abraham and Rosita are splitsville. Abe is a major jerk this week.
- I'm glad Carol and Tobin share a smooch.. but when did that relationship develop?
- When did Father Gabriel grow some balls? He was a sniveling idiot the last time I remember.
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). A good episode but there was NO prep for this major attack. Has Rick not learned anything in six years? Maybe not. We also save some out of character behavior from several people. Why the differences in Carol, Father Gabriel and Maggie? We only have four episodes left this season? Eek. I miss you already "TWD".
