Witches Of East End Season 2 Episode 1 Recap: Welcome Back Ladies (Season Premiere)

When we last saw the Beauchamp ladies, Joanna/ Wendy had managed to close the portal to Asgard but not before someone else got through. Dash and Killian powers were restored after Penelope's death. Dash did something to Killian but we werent sure of the outcome. Ingrid and Freya were still in their present lives (but not for lack of trying). Wendy is on her last life as well. And if none of that makes sense, you'll need to watch the show for yourself.

In "A Moveable Beast" we catch up a week after the smackdown the catacombs. The Beauchamps apparently took a memory potent so they dont remember most of season 1. Uh oh. Here we go again.

Joanna is close to death due to Argenium poisoning. Remember Penelope injected her with it last season. Joanna is undergoing treatments with Victor but they are very painful (and involve some silvery bug type creatures). In a touching scene with Wendy, Joanna says maybe if she dies the girls will stop being reborn and finally have a normal life.

After much lurking around, Frederick arrives at the Beauchamp house. He saves Joanna by absorbing the Argenium into his body. He has built up a resistant over the past century due to "grandfather"continually trying to poison him. Also just an FYI in case you dont know, Frederick is Joanna's son and Freya's twin brother. He has been stuck in Asgard for a long time. How does that twin thing work since Freya is continually dying and being reborn? I'm not sure.

So first I thought Killian was dead (and a ghost since he keeps appearing to Dash). But now I'm not sure. What's Killian doing vacationing in the Caribbean? He's also hanging out with some owl girl named Ava.

Anyway Dash does an MRI on himself. A colleague tells him the "patient" (who is really Dash) has an unusual brain structure. The only other person they've seen with a similar structure is... Ingrid Beauchamp. What's that about?

Frederick has a strange symbol burned onto his chest. We also see a guy in the hospital with the same symbol. He tries to communicate with Dash and says "many more will die before the right one is found". Whatever that means. All I can say for sure is do NOT trust Frederick.

Wendy keeps running into EMT guy-- at the library, at the bar when he tries to help Ingrid etc. I'm sure they'll be an item soon. Freya still has sexy dreams about Killian but he seems to be dying in these. Dash gets an email from a mysterious strange that says "I know what you did last summer". Well I might be paraphrasing there.

Ingrid meets some strange blue tentacled creature in the woods and they have sexy times. Not sure what that thing is but it looks like an escapee from "Avatar".

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). A solid start to season 2. I hope they can keep up the momentum they established last year.
