The medical examiner Dr Ravi Chakabarti eventually finds out she is eating the brains of the recently autopsied. Instead of freaking out, he is very interested and wants to run tests to find a cure. It seems he tried to warn the CDC about a zombie outbreak but to no avail.
When Liv eats a brain she temporarily gets visions of how that person died and picks up many of their characteristics. She works with Seattle PD Detective Clive Babineaux (who thinks she's psychic) in order to solve the person's murder.
The Main Characters: Ravi, Major, Liv & Clive
Dead Guy Under Car
In "Grumpy Old Liv" Liv takes on the personality of a crotchety old man that was crushed by a car. No one in the neighborhood liked him in the least. We think the culprit is his sister in law. Instead its a neighbor with a little dog who accidentally killed him.
Great Outfit!
In "Zombie Bro" Liv takes on the personality of a dead frat brother who was stabbed to death while dressed as Cesar (how appropriate). He calls everyone "bro". The path leads to a furry or two and then a case of mistaken identity. The story wasnt very compelling but who cares. There were lots of laughs.
Also lurking around is Vaughn Du Clark (played by the always compelling Steven Weber). Vaughn is the CEO of energy drink company Max Rager. He has hired Major to find and kill zombies (or he will kill Liv). He gives Major some 332 names to track down. Uh oh. Live also doesnt know that his assistant Gilda is her new roommate. Gilda is tasked with keeping an eye on Liv.
Ravi talks Major into going to a club in order to get more Utopium (to study its effects). Major gets hooked though and Liv has to carry him home. We think they might make up but no such luck... yet.
Blaine Can Help With All Your Funeral Needs
In a carry over from last season, the evil Blaine is still lurking about selling Utopium (the experimental drug that caused the zombie outbreak). He is also working at a funeral home where he gets a constant supply of brains for his clients.
We meet Blaine's father in episode 2. Blaine previously turned his father into a zombie and wants to take over his company. Angus in turn had his own father (whom Blaine loved) committed to a mental asylum. Talk about family issues.
