"In Control" was another fun roller coaster ride. The special touches add to the great writing and superb acting to make this my favorite new show on TV. I love how we see a picture of Reagan on the wall in the FBI office.
This episode depicts the Reagan assassination attempt and how both the Soviets and the Americans reacted to it. Were tensions really so high that a nutso shooting at the president almost started WW III? Now that really is scary.
We learn that the Jennings KGB handler's name is Claudia. You should still call her Granny. Claudia is not her real name. "Operation Christopher" is the KGB plan for guerrilla warfare in case of a government coup (which will probably just amount to Elizabeth and Phillip shooting up stuff).
The spy stuff is interesting (like pretending to work for the VP and speaking with the nurse or sending secret coded messages from their transmitter in the woods). I wonder how much of this they use in real life? Do not get in the way of Elizabeth or she will shoot you in the head. Mental note: never become a neighborhood security guard.
What's the big deal with Alexander Haig? Do they really think if he is in charge that he will fire off the nukes? IMHO no matter what politician is in charge it will be the same old, same old-- make lots of money, give some speeches, and fight with the other side.
On to the non spy stuff. The Jennings fake marriage is getting stronger. The Beemans real marriage is falling apart. I wonder if Stan will hookup with Nina? She will probably be killed at some point. And the two teenagers (whatever their names are) seem to be starting a relationship. Oh and being a travel agent is much more dangerous than it looks.

From tvequals.com: When an assassin attempts to kill President Reagan, Philip and Elizabeth scramble to handle the fallout within the KGB. Meanwhile, Stan pressures his source within the Rezidentura to find out if the KGB was responsible for the attempted assassination.
