The Walking Dead Episode 9 Recap: The Suicide King (And Why Does Carols Hair Never Grow)

Welcome back Walking Dead. I missed you so much!!! There was lots of zombie face stomping, head shooting, town destroying fun for the whole family.

This episode picked up right where the last one ended:
  • Daryl had been captured by the Governor. It appeared he was going to kill both the brothers.
  • Rick and crew attacked the town. Oscar was killed. Everyone else escaped.
  • The Dixons decided to go it on their own. We all know they'll be back. And someone should put a bullet in Merle's head before he causes any more damage.
  • Why are they mean to Mich? They really need her help.
  • Andrea is apparently still standing by her crazy one eyed man. He will of course attack the prison.
  • Tyrese, Sasha and the two white guys might be of help if Rick hadn't gone bat shit on them.
  • Carol's hair has still not grown.
  • Carl is still wearing that stupid hat.
  • Hershel is very speedy on those crutches.
  • And y'all should keep Rick away from that baby till he stops hallucinating.
  • Laurie, why are you back? No one liked you when you were alive and they don't like you now that you're dead.
  • The group is falling apart.
  • I can't wait till next week.

  1. I’ve always felt Daryl to be an underrated character in this series. He’s a lot more important to the group than the previous episodes have shown and he finally gets recognized for his efforts in this episode—talk about not realizing how important something is until it’s gone. Daryl stands by his “code” and doesn’t ditch his bro behind like everyone thought he should.

To be honest, I don’t think Rick tried hard enough to get Daryl to stay but back at the camp, the group realizes just what an important strong player they’ve lost. Carol just couldn’t find enough ways to articulate it.
