The Following Episode 2 Recap: Running From The Poe Poe

Here's the highlights from last night's episode entitled "Chapter Two".

• We get to see some backstory for Claire Matthews, Ryan Hardy and Joe Carroll. Emma, Jacob and Paul continue to hold Claire's son Joey hostage. 
• FBI agent Debra Parker is a cult expert. Debra, stop giving books to serial killers! I think she's just trying to build his trust so she can throw the whammy on him. The actress (Annie Parisse) also starred on Leverage. 
• I don't trust Mike Weston. I think he's a follower.
• What was the purpose of having Jennifer Mason there for one episode and then transferred away? 
• The Carroll groupies apparently have a lot of time on their hands. They write Poe stuff all over the walls and proudly display their Poe masks. Why don't they just veg and watch TV and play video games like everyone else?  Emma's dead mom is found in the house-- yuck. 
• Super stealthy ninja ginger kills a few sorority sisters and then tries to kill Claire. Ryan shots him. He'll be interrogated in episode 3. 
• I find the plot and dialog contrived at times but I'm still on board. I need my crazy fix now that AHS Asylum is over and the Walking Dead isn't back yet.
