Dominion Episode 7 Recap: Beware Those Closest To You

Hmmm, I Dont Remember These Tattoos On Your Naked Body Before

The first scene of "Ouroboros" opens in 1900 BC. There's a desert filled with dismembered corpses. It is total carnage. A small boy attempts to escape. A bloody Michael swoops down and offers his hand. Is this the past that Gabriel suggests Michael is hiding from the humans?

Side Note: Ouroboros is an ancient Greek symbol of a snake eating it's own tail. Remember we've seen this on "Hemlock Grove" as well. I assume this refers to the cyclical nature of angels/humans battling each other throughout history: Wikipedia Ouroboros Info

Next we see Gabriel possessing the body of neutral angel and fruit merchant Louis. We needed know Gabriel could even do that. Now the humans are really in trouble. NotLouis heads over to the hospital to talk to another neutral angel. NotLouis suggests it's time to take sides. While jogging, Becca discovers  the bodies of three angels who have been strung up. Michael says they were just ordinary citizens (a medic, an engineer and a bank clerk) who happened to be angels.

Shower time for Alex and Noma.  They sure take a lot of showers on this show. Noma checks out Alex's tattoos. This leads to sexy times. See that's what happens when ya have coed bathing facilities.

Meanwhile William is still nursing his father back to health (after he cracked his ribs). David tries to escape but ends up in his lion pit. William gives him a gun with one bullet. David wants to shoot William but has to shoot the lion instead to protect himself. Poor Samson. It appears that David's spirit has finally been broken. When we last see David, he is being spoon fed by William.

Alex is working on his demon expelling skills and its not going so well. He finally ends up shooting the angel. Too bad you are gone so soon Dirge. I enjoyed your trailer decor (complete with dead bodies in lawn chairs out front).

Michael finds Uriel. Her San Fran crib is a wreck. Gabriel beat her up and destroyed the place in order to get the names of the higher angels hiding in Vega (which she had committed to memory).

Alex goes to see NotLouis. NotLouis says "I knew Michael before he changed". The story of Noah in the Bible was apparently about Noah building a bunker (instead of a boat) to protect his people from someone. Could it be Michael the humans were hiding from?

Alex is summoned to the Stratosphere by NotLouis. Noma shows up too. Uh oh. This cant be good. Gabriel shoves her out the window. I think she's a goner but wait... she starts flapping her wings. NOMA IS AN ANGEL!! I did not see that coming. And apparently sex with an angel is the same as sex with a human (because Alex didnt know that either).

Michael shows up at the Stratosphere. He and Alex argue over Michael not tells Alex that Noma was an angel. Michael says he has been protecting Alex his whole life. They FINALLY learn that NotLouis is really Gabriel. Alex tries the old "sanctify this vessel" routine and this time it works. Gabriel is sent back to Uriel's place. She asks if killing three angels was worth it. Gabriel says it stirred up Michael and "pretty soon we'll have another flood on our hands".

All the neutral angels in Vega are killed (except for Noma). Will we see Noma again? I hope so.

And we're back to the first scene of the episode. A bloody Michael approaches the small boy and says "dont be afraid". Just then Gabriel swoops down and protects the boy. He is later joined by Uriel. It appears that Michael is wiping out all the humans. Father (ie God) told Michael to kill everyone because they were worshiping angels instead of Him.  If this is true, it throws a major monkey wrench into the story. Michael was killing the humans and Gabriel and Uriel were protected them. Hmmm, now I dont know who to root for on this show.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Extra points for two big reveals which I seriously didnt see coming. I previously had my reservations about "Dominion". It seems to have found it's footing now though. I really enjoyed the last few episodes.
