Killjoys Season 4 Finale Review: Sporemageddon

Season 4 of "Killjoys" expands our favorite space bounty hunters' family. Delle Seyah unexpectedly gives birth. The child is D'avin and Aneela's (who is also Delle's girlfriend and Dutch's sister...sorta). Delle describes it better when she declares: "We are not a family. I mean, they are brothers. And one of them is the baby's genetic father. And my girlfriend is the kind of sister/mother of their girlfriend. But we do not get along. There's lots of murders and evil plots for domination and, oh gods, we ARE a family!" Too funny! Anyway the kid is now a teenager and going by Jaq Kin Rit. He has some mad skills and needs to be hidden away for his own safety.

Dutch and the Jaqobis brothers are trying to keep 'The Lady" from entering their reality (from the Green). We thought Aneela and the Hullen were the big bads last season but it is in fact The Lady. Not a lot is known about her except: 1. She is very old; 2. She is the last of her race; and 3. She has plans for world domination.

Zeph is a nice addition this season. She gets the group out of more than one jam thanks to her science wizardry. Her relationship with Pip (RIP) was very sweet. Some of the old familiars are back as well-- Pree (love him!), Gared (his boyfriend), Fancy, and Turin. A dead Khyleen is also back as a memory in the Green. We meet Dutch's/Aneela's (I think) mother Yalena.

In the final scenes, it seems The Lady escapes the Green along with Dutch. Is Aneela still alive and trapped somewhere? They wouldnt kill her like this would they? I want her and Delle to live happily ever after.

Now we realize what The Lady was planning when she said "Memories arent just where you've been, they're who you are. If I own that, I own you. And now that I'm out, I''ll run everything". Uh oh.

Next we see Dutch and Johnny in Westerly. They are a seemingly happily married couple. Johnny runs into D'avin but doesnt know he's his brother. D'avin is a RAC agent and has a warrant out for Jaq (who is of course his son). Uh oh. Looks like our crew are all living entirely different lives and the strings are being pulled by The Lady (who is now posing as a young girl). I still dont understand what her end game is (besides taking over the universe).

Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). An interesting season that greatly added to the mythology of the series. Unfortunately "Killjoys" will be ending after season 5. At least we get one more year of Team Awesome and their very complicated family tree.
