Have All The Therapists Been Eaten? Sasha Needs Some Serious Help.
There's A New Constable (Or Two) In Town
Michonne gets used to her new police uniform and tries to figure out what Deanna's game is. She is hopeful they can stay in Alexandria though. Michonne later retires her sword to a spot above the fireplace. i wonder how long that will last?
We learn that no one mans the tower. Spencer (Deanna's jerk son we met previously) sits up there with an unloaded gun once in a while. Rick insists they must have someone there 24/7. Deanna resists. Sasha volunteers to take all the shifts. It's better for her to be alone currently and she's one of the best shots. Sounds like a good plan to me.
Meanwhile Rick, Carol, and Daryl meet secretly near the house where Rick stashed the pistol in the blender. Rick comments that the Alexandria citizens are the luckiest people in the world. Nothing has happened to them so far and now they have Rick and company to protect them. Carol suggests they steal a number of the firearms that wont be missing while everyone is at a "welcome to Alexandria" cocktail party.
Carol continues to be the best part of this show. She's still working her "I'm a innocent defenseless housewife routine" and even bakes a killer batch of cookies. When she sneaks to get the guns she encounters Sam (son of Jessie). He's looking for more cookies but now he will tell his mom that Carol is stealing from the armory. In the chilling scene Carol suggests he not do that.
"You can never tell anyone especially your mom. Because if you do, one morning you'll wake up and you wont be in your bed. You'll be outside the walls far, far away, tied to a tree. And you'll scream and scream because you'll be so afraid. No one will come to help because no one will hear you. Well something will hear you. The monsters will come. The ones out there. And you wont be able to run away when they come for you. They will tear you apart and eat you up all while you're still alive. All the while you can still feel it. And then afterwards, no one will ever know what happened to you...Or you can promise not to ever tell anyone what you saw here and then nothing will happen and you'll get cookies. Lots of cookies."
Can we seriously just give the emmy to Melissa McBride now? That was chilling and hilarious at the same time.
It's Spaghetti Dinner Tuesday
Daryl continues to feel an outcast. He teams up with Aaron to try to tame Buttons the horse. Too bad the zombies ate him first. Aaron suggest Daryl become the second "recruiter" for Alexandria. That way he was spend most of his time outside the walls. Daryl comes to Aaron and Eric's house for spaghetti dinner and gets a motorcycle to work on. Daryl is liking Alexandria at least a little bit now.
We see a few others at the cocktail party. Who thought throwing a party for people who has been fighting zomies for a year would be a good idea? Deanna I suppose. Anyway everyone awkwardly tried to get through it. Glenn and Maggie seem to be fairing fine. Abraham likes his liquor. Carl, Noah and Rosita are trying to fit in. Sasha freaks out. Tara, Eugene and Father Gabe are nowhere to be seen. The question is, do we even care about those three?
I Need Me A Woman
In the final scene, Rick sees Jessie and her hubby and grabs his gun. It looks like he might off the doc soon. Rick also hears a sound at the wall. It's a zombie on the other side trying to get in. Rick puts his ear against the wall and smiles. I'm not sure what that's about-- either he's happy to be safe from the zombies or he plans to blow a hole in the wall and let them in?
Points To Ponder:
- What's up with the "W" on the zombie's forehead? I didnt read the comics but others say it's a group called the "wolves" (which may be the next threat).
- Did you see Rick was on Morgan Street when he was watching Jessie and her hubby? Speaking of Morgan, where is he?
- What's up with the "A" stamp that Sam put on Rick's hand?
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Since entering Alexandria there's been less action but lots of emotional adjustments (which I personally find as interesting as the zombies). Alexandria seems to be a "normal" neighborhood. There are no cannibals, murderers or rapists to be seen. Are Rick, Carol, Daryl and Sasha their own worst enemies? They apparently are going to start some shit. I would think they'd be happy in a place where they can at least get a good night's sleep. But I guess not. We only have three episodes to go till the end of this season. When is the Los Angeles spinoff set to start?
