If You See This Girl, DO NOT Let Her In Your House Or Your Car. In Fact, Its Safer Just To Run Screaming In The Opposite Direction.
We continue to learn more about the strange universe of the intruders with the aptly titled "The Shepherds And The Fox".

Marcus Is A Strong Proponent Of Home Security. My Front Door Doesnt Have Bars On It.
We see some of Marcus' back story. The FBI arrives at his house. The same Mozart piece that Marcus referenced during the car ride to Seattle is playing. Marcus evades them but leaves behind LOTS of bodies underneath the basement floor boards. Each body holds an item. One is a picture of Marcus with a teenager. What exactly are we seeing? Are all of those bodies young girls? I said previously that I thought Marcus was a pedophile/ serial killer. My money is still on that.
Madison goes to the Psychomancy Trust building that Jack and Gary visited last week. She encounters a woman who tells her to leave. MadiMarcus is none too happy and says "nice tits" to the woman before leaving. The mouth on that child!
Frank visits Richard with coffee. Frank is Richard's recruiter and "shepherding" mentor. Apparently Richard has a horrible life before meeting Frank. Frank asks Richard point blank if he's the one who helped Marcus resurrect? Richard denies, denies, denies. Richard says "if this is really the way that this works, its not just theirs (the Qui Reverti), it should belong to everyone". And it seems we now have Richard's motivation. Frank later says "Rose asked me to do something for her off the books...way, way off the books". Hmmm, one guess as to who he's talking about.
Amy calls Jack since he didnt come home. He's at a hotel. She seems a little too interested in knowing the exact room he's staying in. As soon as she hangs up, Rose calls. She says "you're only alive because of your wife" Rose tells Jack to meet her at Pier 9 tomorrow. Again with the 9s.

Showdown At Pier 9
At Pier 9 Jack meets Frank. He says "Miss Gilchrist sends her regards". Frank says the mystery involves Amy. Jack doesnt understand. Frank says "ask her yourself when you see her again... but not in this lifetime" and pulls a gun on Jack. They struggle. Frank gets the upper hand. Out of nowhere Richard appears. He says "if what they told us is true Frank, this wont matter much" and shoots him dead (I assume). I definitely did NOT see that coming.
Madison runs into a house saying she used to live there. She calls her mom to come and get her. But it turns out Marcus used to live there instead. Its the house that the FBI raided. She says "Do you have any idea what used to go on in this house, arent you afraid here". Next we see MadiMarcus in the shower drinking. There is a bloody knife. Yep Larry the new homeowner is dead.

Baby Donna If You're Trying To Warn Gary I'm Not Sure This Is A Good Plan (Since You Cant Even Talk Yet).
Gary tells Jack he went to Bill's house and saw the Ghost Machine. He felt very sick afterwards. And again he refers to the 19 hertz frequency. (I would like to point out here that 19 is not divisible by 9.) Gary says he awoke in the middle of the night and saw that his infant daughter had another soul inside of her. It was Donna (remember the girl we saw that committed suicide and left behind a note saying "I'm not Donna").

Sometimes I've A Really Good Assassin And Sometimes I'm A Really Bad Assassin
Richard goes to Marcus' old house. He draws his gun to shoot Marcus. Madison starts with the "I'm a little kid", "please give me a hug", "I'm scared" stuff. Anyway, Madison escapes yet again. This time by driving off in Richard's car. That was hilarious!
And in the final scene, we learn that Amy is indeed Rose. Those of you who guessed that previously were correct. I'm still confused though. If Frank was told by Rose to kill Jack, why didnt Amy just do it at home? She had plenty of access to him previously.
If you havent seen it already there is an excellent interview with Glen Morgan (Creator and Executive Producer of "Intruders") at BBC America Glen Morgan Q & A It answers several of the big burning questions:
- Every person is automatically born with two souls. I had previously thought that the person was possessed at some point.
- The second soul can be activated when the person is any multiple of 9 (so 9, 18, 27, 36, etc).
- Everyone has been here before. We all come back RANDOMLY in another body but Qui Reverti are the only ones that know how to locate the second soul and then trigger it.
Random Observations:
- What's up with the sand dollars? Richard gives one to Madison which I thought was a trigger to bring out Marcus. Marcus has a tank full of them when the police raid his house. Is there some historical significance to sand dollars that I'm not aware of?
- The number 9 holds what significance? In this show it is EVERYWHERE.I wont list all the examples but suffice to say that almost any number on this show is either 9, adds up to 9, or is a multiple of 9.
- If all the souls in each body have been here before, how many "original souls" are there floating around the world? Or are there any?
- If everyone has two souls that means we havent seen Jack's (remember that Amy called him her "shepherd") or Gary's (although I suspect one was triggered when he saw the Ghost Machine) or Richard's. I'm not sure about mine either. I hope there's no one like Marcus in here with me.
- How many times is Richard going to attempt to kill MadiMarcus just to let him/her get away?
- At first I thought poor Gary had lost it when he started wailing but now I think its just the other spirit trying to take over his body (since he was exposed to the Ghost Machine). And how much can we believe of what Gary says anyway since he lied about being employed and his wife has a restraining order against him for shaking Baby Donna.
- If every person gets stuck with two souls, what happened to people with Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder)? Did they accidentally get saddled with like 10 of them? That would be a major bummer.
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Another very interesting episode. Is next week the last one? If so, I'll be very unhappy. I need to learn MUCH more about this universe.
