Extant Episode 11 Recap: Show Us The Baby Or Else

There are two episodes of "Extant" to go till the end. I love ya Halle Berry but I really think this show has reached the end of the road. The story line is too limited and the pacing too slow to carry it long term. Every week I watch in the hopes of getting a glimpse of the baby (whose official name is "Offspring"). "Extant" you have to at least throw us a bone to keep us coming back every week.

Anyway enough of my bitching and moaning, here's what happened during "A New World":

Baby? What Baby? I Have No Idea What You're Talking About.
  • Molly is running around trying to find the baby. Sparks, Anya, and FakeKatie keep trying to evade capture with the baby. The baby is busy killing people.
  • Kryger is really dead.
  • Odin continues to stay close to Ethan. He eventually takes Ethan's batteries out and implants something in his back. Was that an explosive device? If so,  is he trying to kill as many people as possible with Ethan blows up?
  • Yasumoto has only eight days to live. We get Yasumoto's back story. He was a poor miner working for Claypool many years ago. How old is he anyway? He has a lot of dinosaur bones laying around. Yasumoto's job was to mine impact craters. He fell in a deep hole and was near death but the material from the meteorite saved him. And he's been injecting the yellow substance every since (but it's about to run out). He needs more juice!
  • Flashback to some guy named Shawn Glass on his spaceship. Two astronauts dock saying they found an escape pod and inside is Katie. So is she really alive or what?
  • And in the last scene we see Anya laying on the ground in what looks like a tunnel. Far in the distance is a small child heading for the light. And end scene.
  • So in conclusion if they find the baby it could mean either: 1. Death will be overcome (everyone lives forever); 2. We can be reunited with our previously deceased loved ones (even if its only in our heads); 3. The destruction of life on Earth as we know it; 4. None of the above; or 5. I just dont care anymore. Please place your bets in the comments below.

Grade: 2 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). "Extant" has a number of positives going for it but they're still not enough to overcome the slow pace and weak story line. I'll try to hang on till the end but is there is a season 2 I probably wont watch.
