Hello I'm Agent Carter And These Are The Howling Commandos. You'll Be Seeing A Lot More Of Us Later.
Flashback to WWII when Peggy Carter collects the Obelisk from the Nazis and files it away for safe keeping. In present day our team has to keep it out of the hands of the baddies including "Crusher" Creel (also know as "The Absorbing Man"). Stay tuned for another Marvel spinoff "Agent Carter" coming later this season. If it all looks like this, I'm in.
Creel Will Crush You With His Big Giant Arms
My favorite additions this week were Isabelle Hartley (Lucy Lawless) and General Talbot and his formidable mustache. (Adrian Pasard). There is a car crash. Crusher takes off with the 0-8-4. It has Izzy's arm attached to it. She had asked Hunter to cut off her arm off after touching the obelisk because she didnt want to die. And she's not really dead is she? She better not be dead!!! I dont think they'd hire the legendary Lucy Lawless for just one episode so I'm going with "NO!". Hopefully we'll see her later with a robotic arm.
The really smart folks over at Hypable Season 2 Theories think the obelisk is an infinity stone and that is it has the power to control life and death. Case in point, Dr Whitehall (Hydra baddie and Kraken) does not appear to have aged at all since WWII.
Yep Looks The Same To Me
In related news:
- Skye is supposed to figure out what those weird drawings were that Garrett did. Apparently Coulson didnt tell her he was drawing the same stuff.
- Ward is locked in the jail sell under the building. He tried to commit suicide between seasons. I'll be interested to see where they go with that story line. He also has info on Skye's father. Wonder what he knows?
- Oh and in important hair news: Skye has a new hairdo (bangs), Ward has grown a beard, and I already mentioned Talbot's mustache. Cause hair new is important news.
That Sir Is An Impressive Mustache
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). This episode was primarily a reset to introduce new viewers and reintroduce old ones to SHIELD. There should be some interesting characters this season. I probably wont review this show on a weekly basis but will check back intermittently to see how things are going. After watching lots of Netflix and cable shows, the 22 episode seasons on the big 3 networks is just too long to me.
