Orphan Black Season 3 Epi 4 Review: Oh My God. Is Everyones Life This Chaotic?

"Newer Elements Of Our Defense" picks up right where last week's left off. Mark is lying in a corn field with two gunshot wounds (one in the gut and one in the leg). Mrs Johannsen is wandering around with a shotgun. Sarah helps Mark before the Proletheans kill them both. She removes the bullet from his leg. Looks like Mark is Pro Leda now.

Clone Bonding

Gracie is back at Prolo headquarters. We meet Mr Appleyard who knows something is wrong with the baby when he touches her stomach. Gracie loses Helena and Hendrick's baby. She's then kicked out of the cult by Mrs J (which IMHO is the best thing that could have happened to her).

Gracie, Stay As Far Away From Your Crazy Family As Possible

Helena is causing all sorts of ruckus back at the secret military base. They inject her with a sedative but Helena is too smart for them and escapes. She sees another Castor (Parsons) being experimented on. How many of these boys are there? After a chat with the scorpion, she shows him mercy and kills him by shoving a scalpel into his open brain. Ewww. See Helena is handy to have around at times. Mental Note: Do NOT trust Dr Coady about anything.

Helena Is Surprisingly Caring To The New Clone

Alison and Donnie are still working the drug business and trying not to get caught. It turns out their supplier is Alison's ex high school sweetheart Jason. He still has feelings for her so this should be interesting. Donnie continues to be a bumbling idiot and great fun to watch.

Felix and Cosima go out for a night on the town (to take Cosima's mind off Delphine). Felix signs her up for a dating site. Good...because we definitely want to see more of Cosima being happy.

Sarah discovers that Henrick was Duncan's lab assistant and that Mrs J had carried a castor embryo which died. Sarah and Mark go dig up a baby. They think it holds the key to the genetic issues for both lines of clones. As soon as Sarah digs up the coffin, Rudy appears. He chases her in the bar. Mark is close behind. Rudy wants Mark to kill Sarah but we know he wont do it.

"No more pain little one."- Helena before she kills a the tortured Castor Parsons.
"Shes not a Monster. She was just triained to be a killer. Does that sound familiar?" Sarah to Mark about Helena.
"It looks like you've been mounted by a llama."- Felix to Cosima about her sweater. Cant say that I've heard that before.
"Do you remember what happened the last time you had a gun in the car?"- Alison to Donnie referring to him accidentally killing Dr Leekie.
"Oh my God. Is everyone's life this chaotic?"- Donnie to Alison.
"What happened Gracie is that you betrayed your family. God wanted to punish you so he took the child. Our legacy and you lost it."- Mrs Johanssen.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Not my most favorite episode but its moving along. I'm still not completely sold on the boy clones. Next week Gracie meets Feix and Mrs S. Looks like Cosima has a new love interest and its Kenzi from "Lost Girl". Wheee! The clones continue their search for the DNA sample needed to heal all of them.
