"Heirs of Salvation" picks up several months after the season 1 finale. Alex is held prisoner by Angel Gabriel. They still havent deciphered Alex's tattoos. Back in Vega, Claire is now "Lady of the City". David Whele continues to be a power hungry weasel. Claire lets all the lower V's into Vega to protect them. David has the building they're staying in burnt to the ground (with them in it). What a jerk. His sonny William should have killed David when he has a chance. Speaking of William, is he really dead? Or is David just nutso?
Yep These Two Are Going To Have A Smackdown At Some Point
Claire and Arika/Evelyn team up to drop a bomb on Gabriel's mountain hideout (ie aerie). Who exactly was killed during the attack? Gabriel is not dead. Uriel was mentioned but I doubt she's dead. Alex says "that bomb changes everything" meaning (I think) that their situation just went from bad to worse. I'm also not buying Claire would purposefully harm her baby's daddy. All Claire did was kick the hornet's nest. Gabriel will seek payback big time.
I'd Like To See More Sexy Times Between These Two
Alex and Noma find a jeep and make their way to New Delphi. They are attacked by a bunch of eight balls along the way. Extra bonus points for killing one by running over it's head. One interesting development is that Alex can now successfully evict an eight ball without killing the human host. See Claire's mom Clementine as an example of how that didnt work last season. The newly eightball free Pete will tag along with Noma and Alex on their trip.
How Refreshing
Meanwhile a naked Michael bathes in the ocean. Perhaps "Dominion" could do a nude episode. I would definitely watch that. Anyway, at the beginning of the episode we see a group of women and children hiding in a bunker. Michael is outside in the rain killing everyone with his sword. Has he gone rogue again? Nope, he's helping the citizens of Mallory Alabama fight off the eight balls. Did the fire really keep the eightballs away previously? I'm not sure how that works.
Uh Oh, This Isnt Good
Grade: 3 3/4 Monsters (out of 5). I watched all of last years (see my reviews at Dominion Season 1) but dont know if I'll continue regularly. There are some great parts (naked Michael and the rain fight scene) but the action as a whole is a little slow for me. I will check back from time to time though.
