Under The Dome Episode 2 Recap: Fire In The Bubble

This week's goings on in Chester Mills include:

In a flashback, we see that Barbie killed Julia's husband in self defense. It looks like Barbie was sent to collect a debt from Peter and a confrontation ensued. Barbie feels very guilty about this and is having nightmares.
Rennie (ie Junior) still has Angie locked in the storm cellar. She antagonizes him by saying she slept with Barbie. Uh not a good idea to irritate a crazy person while he has you locked up. Anyway Rennie and Barbie get in a fight and Barbie wins. Can someone kill Junior already.
We learned that ya can't dig under the dome, that it affects batteries (since it stopped Duke's pacemaker), and that it is semipermeable (since some water from a hose is getting through).
The military doesn't know what caused the dome (so we can mark them off the list of possible creators).
Joe figures out that the dome is 10 miles across. Apparently he does not know that his sister Angie is missing.
Big Jim sends the reverend to Duke's house to cover up evidence of the propane scheme they were all involved in. While there, Father Coggins accidentally sets Duke's house on fire. Linda pulls him out of the fire (which is ironic since Duke willed her the house which Coggins just burnt down). All the townspeople gathered together to help put out the fire. A word of advice though people... It's helpful to throw water ON the fire. It looked to me like Barbie was just throwing it at the open door. There is fire coming out the windows too. And where's the fire department when ya need them? They are unfortunately stuck on the other side of the bubble. Anyway Big Jim saves the day by flattening out the house with a bulldozer.
Looks like the police force is down to Linda now since after Crazy Cop shot at the dome, it ricocheted off and hit Freddie (Linda's brother in law) in the chest.

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). A solid second episode. I'm purposely trying not reading anything about the book so as to not spoil it (even though the show and the book may be very different).
