Dracula Episode 3 Recap: Green Goblin Merchant Marine Men

Last time I reported that I was bored with all the BusinessSpeak on "Dracula". Less talking, more fanging! This week's episode seemed much better.  What say you?

Good thing I've been doing my vampire ab exercises

Here's the highlights from "Goblin Merchant Men" (And where did this title come from? I have no idea):
  • We see in a flashback how Dracula become a vampire. Apparently it just involves drinking some blood out of a dead animal skull and then having your throat slit. Who knew? Dracula thus has been "condemned to endless night". If he goes out in the sun, he's toast. I enjoyed the scene where they had Dracula chained high in the dungeon. At first I thought he was levitating there. Cause what good is it to be vampire if ya can't levitate?
  • Grayson finds out what Lady Jayne is up to (caged vampire hidden in a secret passage). We think he's going to kill her as he slithers up her body but nope. More sexy times ensue instead.
  • Grayson receives Lord Laurent's shares which makes him the major stockholder in British Imperial Heating and Cooling (or whatever the name of the company is). Again, do we care about this storyline AT ALL? No, we do not.
  • Bravo to Renfield for not taking crap from anyone.
  • Grayson gives Jonathan a list of men he is to befriend so they can take down the Order of the Dragon.
  • Lucy convinces Mina to go out on the town (since Mina is upset over her breakup with Harker). They do a little absinthe and start to hallucinate. I'm pretty sure I was not (hallucinating) when noticing that Lucy was getting VERY snuggly with Mina. I hope they pursue this storyline. Then instead of a love triangle, we have a love quadrangle. Oh and at the end of that scene a man tries to kiss Mina. She rebukes him. He gets violent. Just then Grayson appears and throws him across the room.
  • Lord Davenport is killed by the Order as punishment for selling his shares. That seems harsh. Later Daniel Davenport is despondent over Laurent's death and shoots himself in the head. His father finds his body and a note that says "Grayson".  I know they needed to do this to move the plot along but I really wish they could have run off together instead.
  • A envelope is sent by Dr Murray to the seers who are busy spying with their magic mirror on Dracula and Jayne in bed.  Opps there's a little (on purpose) mixup at the Van Helsing Pharmacy. Instead of a stimulant the seers receive poison. They are paralyzed. Van Helsing crashes into the room and proceeds to bash their brains in (so the poison can't be found in their systems during an autopsy).
  • Mina proposes to Jonathan in the middle of the street. He gives her a cross necklace which I'm sure we'll see again. That Mina truly is a woman ahead of her time.
  • Mina is now Van Helsing's personal assistant so I'm sure she'll be working on the Day Glow serum for Dracula.
  • And Lady Jayne and her amble cleavage still remain the best part of this show.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I thought this episode was much better than previous ones.  Please keep up the momentum! Extra bonus points for Grayson running around shirtless.
