Meanwhile Rahm hears there are two Omecs in Defiance and one is T'evgin (who was a great war hero). Rahm is visibly frightened. He sends the Tarrs word that they must kill T’evgin if they want to keep their son Alak alive. Stahma volunteers to have sex with T'evgin and then stab him with a poisoned needle. Datak understandably doesnt think much of the plan. She promises to only think of him during the act. Too funny. I just love Stahma! Having sex is her answer to everything.
The Fab Four Biomen
Meanwhile Amanda and Nolan arrive at Arrowhead. They are immediately encountered by a Bioman and taken down the secret elevator. That scene reminded me of "Resident Evil". It turns out Pottinger has been hiding out down there with his four Biomen (whom he named George, Paul, John and Ringo). I, like Amanda and Nolan, am surprised see him again. Potty has been living large thanks to the finely stocked facility. Pottinger tells a big story about how he, Mercardo and a number of soldiers and civilians were attacked by the Votans. We all know Potty is a liar and he killed those people himself.
Shoot Him A Few More Times For Good Measure
Nolan goes with one of the Biomen to look for weapons and gets knocked out instead. He ends up in a cage with a vet named Samir (who confirms that Pottinger murdered everyone). He also had Samir attach a kill switch to his chest. If anyone kills Pottinger the whole place will be sucked into a worm hole. Too bad no one told Amanda this cause Potty is busy creeping on her again. She sees the mask and flashlight that her rapist wore back in New York. Amanda finally realizes it was Potty who attacked her. If that wasnt bad enough, she next sees secret videos he took of her back in Defiance. That's why one of the Biomen earlier said "you look just like her...the girl from the movies". Amanda shoots Potty in the legs but that doesnt slow him down much. He still refuses to confess. He says he still loves her. He also says he loved Conner previously and has a freaky painting of him to prove it. Freaky! She finally shoots him the chest. Uh oh. Luckily Nolan and Samir have escaped their cage. They hightail it out as the whole place gets sucked into the ground. Looks like they wont be using any of those weapons.
Potty Goes Boom!
As they head back, Nolan has a terrible headache/seizure and ends up on the ground. Irisa has the same. She asks Berlin to help her but Berlin just turns and leaves (since she still blames Irisa for Tommy's death). Is this due to Nolan and Irisa's neural link from the pod? I have no idea. But I'd say they're both safe since they're main characters.
Back in Defiance, Stahma visits T’evgin for his "culture lesson". Haa, I too would like to sign up for culture lessons with Stahma. They get it on (hence the MA rating on this episode) and Stahma stabs him with the needle. It has no effect. I think she's secretly happy since she seems to be having a good time (and is most definitely NOT thinking of Datak as she promised). The next morning T’evgin makes her pancakes. Stahma says no man has ever cooked for her...so he's quickly winning her over. He says they should talk about the poison. She is not the first to try to kill him. He is very old (and apparently his physiology is different from Castis or humans) so it's not going to be easy. Stahma tells him the truth. Will T’evgin help her get Alak back? So far I'm really liking those two together.
Favorite Quotes:
- “Why isn’t this glorious renaissance man back home dead in space with the rest of the enchanters?”- Rahm about T'evgin
- T'evgin: "Why do you want me dead?" Stahma: "Actually I dont." T'evgin: "And I dont want to be killed so I guess that puts up on the same page...as the humans say."
- "You look just like her...the girl from the movies"- Bioman to Amanda
Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). I especially enjoyed the Stahma and T'evgin scenes. I hope they join forced to wipe out Rahm. Jaime Murray obviously has chemistry with everyone-- be they human, alien, animal, vegetable or mineral. Having Potty get his just rewards at the hands of Amanda was a great twist. What a sleezeball. This episode also reminded me how much I like the Biomen. More please.
