It's now 10 days later. In a voiceover, Annalise says we are more likely to be killed by someone we know...possibly a lover. Flashback to Rebecca lying dead in Annalise's basement. Who killed her? I thought that mystery would stretch through all of season 2 but nope. More on that later.
Annalise Takes Over As The Hapstall Attorney(After Getting The First One Fired)
The "case of the week" involves two adult children (Caleb and Catherine Hapstall) who may have murdered their wealthy parents. And their their Aunt (and chief eyewitness to their whereabouts) is murdered in her car. Sure it's kinda bizarre but that's not why we're really here.
Eve (the always wonderful Famke Janssen) rolls into town. She is the person Annalise told Nate to contact (since she's a death row attorney). Uh, wasn't Annalilse is the one who framed her lover Nate for killing hubby Sam in the first place? Apparently Eve is yet another person that has been done wrong by Annalise. There are too many to count.
Annalise comes over. They have a late night chat. Eve says she thinks about Annalise every day. Apparently Eve and Annalise were a couple when she met Sam (and that's why they broke up). I can honestly say I didnt see that coming. And the next day, Eve is back to being Nate's lawyer again.
This Was Hard To Watch
And now for the moment we've all been waiting for. It turns out Rebecca was murdered by... wait for it... Bonnie. Did Bonnie kill her to protect Annalise? Who knows.
Everyone In This Picture Is A Murderer...Probably
In the final scene we see Wes running from the Hapstall Mansion (where those murder kids live). It's two months later. Inside is a badly injured Annalise laying on the floor. She is bleeding heavily. We know she cant die because she is the MAIN character...or can she?
- Frank (Annalise's assistant) killed Lila (Sam's lover because he owed Sam)
- The Keating Five (Annalise's students) killed Sam
- Bonnie (Annalise's assistant, who may/may not be obsessed with Sam and/or Annalise) killed Rebecca
- ? killed Annalise (maybe Wes...maybe not)
Congrats to Viola Davis for her "Outstanding Lead Actress In A Dramatic Series" Emmy. She knocks it out of the park with her portrayal of the tough as nails yet secretly vulnerable attorney. Annalise Keating is the main reason I keep coming back for more.
