ZNation Season 2 Episode 1 Review: Murphys Zombie Strip Club (Season Premiere)

It looked like our heroes were in quite a pickle at the end of last season with multiple nuclear warheads rushing to blow them to kingdom come. In the season 2 premiere entitled "The Murphy" we learn everyone makes it out alive. A naked Murphy, who started the whole thing, drives away. Warren, 10K and Doc also flee by truck and hide in a tunnel.

The evil Doc Kurian crawls inside a refrigerator. Don't try this at home kids! Apparently it doesnt work too well for him either as he looks a little crispy. Up at the Arctic, Citizen Z survives thanks to the antimissile defense system. He still had to fight off a few Air Force zombies afterwards though.

Elsewhere Mac finally catches up with Addy. Remember she had joined a women's commune called the Sisters of Mercy (led by Kelly McGillis) last year. Turns out they were all wiped out by a kid they spurned and a zombear. Yep, you read that right. I said zombie bear.

We're Not Sure What Cassandra Is Yet

Murphy goes on a little shopping spree with his zombie posse. He's tired of being naked and needs some new threads to match his new silvery blue skin. Citizen Z has an APB out on him. A guy tries to capture Murphy but he's saved by a crazed Cassandra. No, I dont know how she survived the nuclear blast.

Roberta, still suffering from an existential crisis, is about to give herself "mercy" when she hears a girl scream. The child is surrounded by zombies and only has a hoe to defend herself with. Warren dispatches with LOTS of zombies with a number of "two for the price of one" shots before collapsing. She wakes up in a home where a nice family has survived the zombie apocalypse just fine. This renews her faith in humanity.

Murphy The Pimp Daddy

Murphy and Cassandra are over at the local strip club. Murphy has taught two of the zombie girls to kiss each other. They start out OK until they start to eat other faces. Murphy scolds them with "Ladies, we talked about this". Too funny!

10K and Doc catch up with Mac and Addy. They pick Warren up on the side of the road. They head for Cheyenne and know exactly where to find Murphy. The plan is STILL to get him to California to create a zombie vaccine. Murphy of course has other ideas. He wants them to stay and watch the show.

I Agree. This Act Needs Some Work.

We meet Chantrelle (yes, that's a stage name) at the stripper pole. She awkwardly whirls around over and over again until there's nothing left but an arm (which spins around a few more times before collapsing to the ground). I'm not sure I'd give out any tips for that performance either. Also was that the guy that first tried to capture Murphy? I think so but I'm not sure.

Yet another guy shows up to try to capture Murphy. Just like zombies, the bounty hunters never stop because now there's a HUGE reward for anyone who locates Murphy. There's a big fight. Lots of zombies get beaned in the head with cue balls. One gets blow up (literally) with a fire extinguisher. That was fun. The guy (is he going to be a regular) and Murphy escape. The rest of the team follows in hot pursuit.

Zombie Baby Mama

And in the final scene, remember the pie lady from the Sisters of Mercy? I think her name is Serena. Well now she's preggo with Murphy's zombie baby. And the kid already has special powers. When mommy asks here Murphy is, the baby points left. This should be interesting.

This episode brings us zombie strippers to add to last season's zorndaos, zunamis, zombabies, zombears, radioactive zombies and Viagra zombies.
