Catching up on previous issues of "The Blacklist". I know a lot of people watch this show religiously but it's never really caught on with me for some reason. Don't get me wrong. I love James Spader and Megan Boone is growing on me ever so slowly.
There are also a growing number of theories about hidden clues on the show. Since I'm always up for a good conspiracy, this made it even more interesting. A few include:
- The scar on Liz's hand and the symbol on the buried box that contained hubby's fake passports, cash and guns are similar (If ya squint)
- I still think Red is Liz's father since episode 7 shows him buying a house that she supposedly lived in while growing up. He knew exactly which piece of wood to pull off to reveal where they marked her height as she grew. Then after visiting the house and having a flashback of a young girl running in the yard, he blew the house up citing bad memories. Hmmmm.
- I have no idea what Tom is up to.
- Did Red have another daughter (older sister to Liz) who was killed by the Stewmaker? Red then left Liz with her "adoptive" parents in order to hide her identity and protect her. See more info here: http://www.tv.com/shows/the-blacklist/community/post/who-is-the-girl-in-the-photo-1381815223/
From Wikipedia:
Episode 5 "The Courier" (Number 85):
Red finds out that The Courier (guest star Robert Knepper) – a middleman that no one crosses – is delivering a package worth millions of dollars to an Iranian spy. The Courier is a "ghost" and no one, including Red, knows what he looks like. While racing to stop the mysterious criminal transaction, Liz inadvertently finds herself thrust into a dangerous kidnapping plot. Ressler finally accepts that Liz is a valuable asset to the team. Meanwhile, the strangers across the street watch through the surveillance cameras as Liz confronts Tom about his dark secret.
Episode 6 "Gina Zanetakos" (Number 152):
After Tom confronts Liz about the box, he claims he is innocent and insists that they turn it into the FBI so his name can be cleared. Elsewhere, Red informs Liz and the FBI that the next name on the Blacklist is a beautiful and deadly corporate terrorist, Gina Zanetakos (Margarita Levieva). Elsewhere, Tom maintains his innocence while being interrogated. Soon Liz realizes there is more than meets the eye when she discovers the passports containing Tom's face are forged.
Episode 7 "Frederick Barnes (Number 187):
After a chemical attack on a subway, Liz and the FBI search for the man responsible. Liz reluctantly calls on Red for his help after she finds her search for the next person on the blacklist, brilliant scientist Frederick Barnes (guest star Robert Sean Leonard), heading to a dead end. Meanwhile, Liz wants nothing to do with Red after he implicated Tom.
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). Unlike others, I still haven't come down with the Blacklist bug but I'll cheek checking back every few episodes.
