Once Upon A Time Episode 6 Recap: Now Im Hungry For Fish Sticks

This week we meet Ariel and find out she has past story line with Snow White and Regina.  She saved Snow White's life way back when. And apparently Regina has a "complicated" past with every person on this show. Last time it was Tinkerbell. Now it's Ariel.

Here's the highlights from "Ariel":

I was disappointed at the lack of fish jokes on Twitter during the episode. What's wrong with your people? It's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Ariel saves Snow from almost drowning while she's running from EQ's (Evil Queen's) men. Ariel is in love with Prince Eric. She finds out about the yearly "Under The Sea Ball" he is hosting. It's sponsored by Star Kist. She can attend because Ursula grants mermaids the ability to walk on land for 12 hours only during the ball. OK that seems strange, but whatever. She better make it is quick cause after that, it's back to sushi.

Meanwhile all the bozos are STILL on the island looking for Henry. Regina is trying to teach Emma magic but they are too busy fighting. Regina is seriously the only person with any sense on that island. Hook tells them that Neal is still alive. Regina stomps off the find Rumple while Emma, Hook and the two idiots looking for Neal. Regina finds Rumple talking to an imaginary Belle. She promptly strangles her and it's actually the Shadow. Regina says that with her magic combined with Rumple's, they can defeat Pan. Rumple says the only way is if he dies. Regina says nonsense, you're only dying at my hands. And did I mention that I SERIOUSLY LOVE REGINA? Cause I do.

Meanwhile the rest of the group find Neal in Echo Cave in a cage WAY FAR AWAY. They are separated by a crevasse and don't know how to activate the bridge. They must reveal their deepest secrets in order to get it to work. And that's when the craziness begins. Snow says she wants to have another baby. Hey we missed Emma's first EVERYTHING so we'll just have another kid to make up for it. At that point Charming finally tells Snow that he can NEVER leave the island or he will die. Emma says she kissed Hook. Hooks says he thought he could never love anyone after Mila (correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that Rumple's wife) until he met Emma.

The bridge is activated. Emma runs across it to the cage. Emma releases him by saying something about I have loved you since I saw you in New York...I was hoping you were dead so I could get over you... blah, blah. Neal reacts by saying "I'll never stop fighting for you". Well, whatever! I've said it before but I'll say it again. I think Emma and Neal have zero chemistry together.

Anywho, the rest of the Ariel story is Ursula gives her a bracelet and tricks her into putting it on Snow. Snow turns into a mermaid and Ariel can stay on dry land forever. However "Ursula" was actually the Evil Queen. Lana I love ya but that was a little excessive on the arm waving while you were Ursula. EQ tells Ariel to go away or she wont get a second chance. Ariel stabs her in the neck with a fork (ie "salad trident") to protect Snow. However EQ gets her revenge later by cursing Ariel's voice (and ruining her chances with Prince Eric). When EQ is chillaxing back at the castle that night feeling proud of herself, the real Ursula appears in her mirror and reaches out her tentacles and gives her a little squeeze and says don't do that again. She doesn't seen very menacing if all she does is squeeze ya a little. I could use a good squeeze once in a while.

At the end of the episode Regina summons Ariel and says help us and I'll give you what you want (your voice back and the bracelet) and you can live happily ever after with Prince Eric. And FINALLY they'll be back in Storeybrooke next week. I am SO sick of that stupid island and Peter "Protruding Ears" Pan!

No one will notice its me in this blonde wig.

Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). The more air time Lana gets, the higher the score . All kidding aside this might be the best episode of the season to date. Joanna Garcia was the perfect Ariel. I hope she becomes a regular. Is it me or does she look a lot like Amy Adams?
