All AA meetings are canceled during the Zombie Apocalypse until further notice
What we learned from tonight's episode:
- Fresh fruit alone will not keep you alive during the apocalypse. We were introduced to Apricot Girl (Ana) and Guy (Sam). The girl was eaten by the end of the episode (as was indicated by her severed leg). We're not sure what happened to the guy.
- Did you notice the kudzu? It's an invasive plant that grows VERY quickly in the south. It would grow over zombies too if they were still long enough. Nice touch by the TWD writers. More kudzu info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudzu_in_the_United_States
- Bob almost gets killed trying to get his bag away from the zombies. It turns out that there was no medicine inside. It was instead filled with boozes (cause he's an alcoholic). The rest of the group is seriously pissed at him. This does bring up an interesting point though. During a TEOTWAWKI event, there will be lots of people with substance abuse issues running around (including those currently on prescribed medications). It's going to be a mess.
- My first reaction about the Carol story line is What The Bloody Hell? Why did Rick force her to leave? Yes she killed two sick people but she did it to try and protect everyone else. She is doing what the situation demands-- be as emotionally separated and cautious as possible. Yes Tyreese would kill her if he found out so Rick's right about that. During a real ZA, Carol would still be alive and Rick would be dead (cause he's stupid). Anyway she takes Sam's station wagon and drives away. What is Rick going to tell the others (especially the two girls Lizzie and What's Her Name) about what happened to her? And do you think Carol REALLY killed David and Karen or is she covering for someone? I'm not sure.
- And why are all the women on this show killed or leave by some other means?Michonne and Maggie, you better watch your backs.
- And we still don't know who is feeding the zombies rats (one of the kids) and where the Governor is (your guess is as good as mine).
- Favorite quotes:
- “You fight it, and fight it and don’t give up, and then one day you just change. We all change.”- Carol to her adopted daughter Lizzie.
- "Anger makes ya stupid. Stupid gets ya killed"- Michonne
- "We don’t know if we get a tomorrow”- Carol
- "Rick, it’s me. No one else has to know. I thought you were done making decisions for everyone."- Carol in reference to her killing Karen and David.
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). A good episode but I'm sad about Carol. They need her in order to survive!
