Pre-wedding Smudge
We've come to the end of season 1 and what a great ride it has been. Thank goodness there's a season 2 or I don't know what I would do.
Freya and Dash's wedding day has arrived. There are all sorts of bad omens floating around. Penelope is sending crows to kill themselves on the Beauchamp's doorstep. It's raining. And Argenium (which apparently can kill witches) is leaking out of a wall in Fairhaven's basement.
Victor and Joanna make up and have some sexy times. Freya wants them both to walk to walk her down the aisle. How sweet. Victor gives Freya a box which contains information about her 1908 self. Apparently she was with Killian (who was named Henry at the time). He was her soulmate. Who knows how many times they've been together in the past. I like this idea of the same people in your life throughout eternity. I must say Victor doesn't have a very good sense of timing though.
And in a previous episode we saw Joanna read Freya's Tarot cards. She drew The Emperor and The Trickster. She thinks the trickster is Killian but I think it's actually Dash. She breaks up with Dash and he is not a happy camper. He goes to find Killian on his boat.
Penelope disguises himself as Wendy and lures Joanna to the catacombs. Penelope injects Joanna with Argenium which weakens her. Wendy finds her and there is a knock down drag out fight. The two sister finally get the best of Penelope and burn her up in the furnace. Her death apparently gives Dash and Killian their powers back (that she had stolen from them when they were babies). Dash uses his new found powers to beat the crap out of Killian and then leaves him for dead.
Meanwhile Crazy Mike is still determined to open the portal to Asgard. He holds Ingrid at gunpoint and makes her open the portal. Bad idea. Mike is toast. Sucks to be you Mike. And we see some person/ creature come through the gate from Asgard. Is that Joanna's son Frederick? And what's the backstory of this battle they lost on Asgard?
The death toll stands at 2 definite and 2 maybes:
- Definites-- Crazy Ike and Penelope/ Athena
- Maybes- Killian and Joanna (we all know these two won't died)
Grade: 4 1/2 Monsters (out of 5) for the season. I was pleasantly surprised by this fun campy show. Hurry back witches!
