The opening scene was a contrast between setting up for the President's bill signing and setting up for an AA mtg. At the bill signing, the VP won't stand on his mark. He is squeezed out of all decision making and he's worried about not getting a pen? Later when the Oval Office is empty he sits in the President's chair and takes a pen anyway. It's interesting to note that Zoe and Frank dont cherish their pen as much. They use it to open a bottle of wine.
Much of episodes 7 and 8 focuses on getting Russo ready to run for governor. He has a lot of skeletons in his closet. Peter is being marketed as a phoenix rising from the ashes. I don't think I'd vote for him.
Frank's assistant Doug is being blackmailed by a girl named Rachel. We're not sure what Doug did or what his real name is. Nancy agrees to put Rachel up in her house. Not a good idea.
Frank visits the Citadel in South Carolina (an all male military academy) where they named a library after him. It appears that he had a relationship with one of previous classmates. Talk about skeletons in people's closets.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I can't wait to see how this series ends but I'm pacing myself and only watching two episodes per week. I thought politics sucked before but now I'm sure it does.
