This episode entitled "Selfless, Brave and True" centers on August / Pinnochio. Turns out he was previously in Hong Kong/Thailand/someplace like that where he tried to get a man named the Dragon to cure him. For those who don't know, he used to be a wooden puppet until he was transformed into a real boy by the Blue Fairy for being... you guessed it... "selfless, brave and true". Tamara (or whatever her real name is) also sought out the Dragon to cure her of cancer. The cost was $10,000. August stole Tamara's money but she got it back. She later killed the Dragon. Why? We do not know.
We find out that Tamara's meeting with Neal in New York was definitely NOT an accident. As many people suspected, she is also the "her" that Out Of Town Greg/ Owen keeps calling. Who is she really? I can't wait to see where they go with her storyline. She is delightfully evil. On a related note, I never thought I'd say this but I miss Cora.
Points to ponder:
- If your name is "the Dragon" shouldn't you be able to defend yourself a little better? He blew some smoke and levitated but that was it before Tamara killed him with a taser.
- Apparently tasers also work on wooden boys. Who knew? Doesnt wood conduct electricity? I thought she would have to run him through a wood chipper or perhaps terrorize him with a woodpecker. I wonder what effect furniture polish has on him.
- Whats up with Snow slapping Gepetto? Did she have a seizure and her arm got away from her? Maybe her heart is getting blacker and it's taken over her arm?
- We didn't see nearly enough of Regina and zero Swan Queen this episode. I'm sad.
- We still don't know what Regina did with Owen's father. Regina said that "some people can just disappear" so maybe that's what she did with him. Im still thinking his heart is in a box though.
- Looks like August is going to have to cut back on dating the ladies for a while. I may look like a 5 year old boy but I'm really a 35 year old wooden puppet. Yep that's a good come on line.
- OUAT is apparently off till April 21. There will then be 4 more new episodes (concluding with the 5/12 finale).
- "If I were you I'd try the fish special. It's right up your alley-- blackened soul"- Regina to Snow White in Granny's Diner.
- August calls himself a "wood pile of failure". Nice to see meet you. I'm a deck chair of shame. Meet my sister-- futon of fun.
Wikipedia:
Episode 18 "Selfless, Brave and True"Snow White/Mary Margaret learns that Pinocchio/August W. Booth has been in hiding and that he has been completely transformed into wood. Meanwhile, Emma is startled when Baelfire/Neal invites his fiancée, Tamara, to Storybrooke
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Im loving the delightfully evil Tamara character. She offed two people (well one Dragon and one wooden boy) in this episode. If she keeps this up she'll have a higher body count than Regina.
