Hannibal Episode 7 Recap: Sorbet (Or No Thanks, I Just Ate)

Hannibal is still enjoying the finer things in life. He's at the opera where he apparently knows a number of the other patrons. One says he throws the most exquisite dinner parties but hasn't recently. He says he has to be properly inspired. I especially liked the opening scenes inside the singer's throat as she sang.

Gillian Anderson FINALLY joins us as Hannibal's therapist. Now there's a dangerous gig. Dr. Du Maurier feels Hannibal is hiding behind a mask and says: "You are wearing a very well tailored person suit." Oh dear. Don't give him any more ideas.

The Hannibal cooking scenes continue to be more and more disgusting. I am seriously going to become a vegetarian. He selects names for his Rolodex to use as recipes.  It doesn't pay to be rude to Hannibal or you'll end up in his skillet.  And I think Hannibal has a slight case of OCD. Everything in his life is elegant and organized. Ever his recipe cards are fancy.

We also have the "murder of the week" storyline but I wasn't interested in that. It's just filler for Hannibal toying with everyone else. We also learn that Hannibal was previously a surgeon. Is there anything this man doesn't do?

From Wikipedia:

Episode 7 "Sorbet"
The BAU is called in when a man is found in a hotel room bathtub with his kidney removed and Graham must determine whether this is the act of an organ harvester or if the Chesapeake Ripper has claimed his first victim in two years. Meanwhile, Crawford continues to be haunted by the discovery of Miriam Lass's arm. Dr. Bloom suspects that Crawford has become obsessed with catching the Ripper, and is putting Graham in danger by making him chase the Ripper. Lecter murders a medical examiner who once treated him rudely and removes his heart. When his body is found displayed on a bus, Graham becomes convinced that the latest victim was the work of the real Ripper, while the first was not. Lecter takes another four victims and harvests their organs for use in a dinner party. Through hotel security footage, the BAU team discovers that the organ harvester is a part-time paramedic, Devon Silvestri, who aspires to be a doctor. They track his ambulance in time to save the life of his latest victim, but his arrest solidifies Graham's opinion that there is only one Chesapeake Ripper, who was responsible for all of the murders except the first

Grade:4 Monsters (out of 5). I am seriously becoming a vegetarian after watching this show.
