This week's episode is entitled "Are We There Yet". I have the exact same question. There were some funny scenes though. Zack gets a personality and Vogel throws the world's strangest dinner party. Here's' the highlights:
- When we last saw Cassie (Dexter's next door neighbor) she was dead on the floor thanks to an unknown person. Dexter finds Zach's blood under her nails. It turns out its not him though. Who set him up? Was it Hannah or Evelyn or someone else? Cassie's boyfriend Saxon was thrown in as a red herring (I think). Maybe Quinn planted the blood since he's desperately trying to catch Hamilton. Maybe Deb went crazy and started killing people.
- The scene with three serial killers in a plastic wrap covered hotel room provided some much needed comic relief.
- Hannah declares her love for Dexter to Deb. Do we believe her? I'm not sure. Deb was going to arrest her but then just let her go. Come on Deb, get with the program! Hannah is worth $250,000. I'd turn in my grandma for that much money.
- The dinner party with Dr Vogel, Dexter, Hannah and Hamilton was both strange and amusing. Why would one invite 3 serial killers (one of whom is a poisoner) to dinner? Vogel also said some strange things. She wanted to make sure no one was vegetarian. I suspect they were eating some ONE instead of some thing. When they ask about her past, she dodges them. I think the doc may have been watching too many episodes of "Hannibal" because that dialogue is very similar to something Hannibal said last season.
- Dexter gives Hannah a fake passport. Say hello to "Claire Thompson". Sexy times for Dexter and Hannah ensue. We get to see Dexter's butt. If Dexter had sex more often I dare say he wouldn't be killing as many people. And just as Hannah is ready to get on a plane, Dexter comes running up and pleads with her to stay.
- And just when young Ham was starting to grow on me (I really didn't like him in previous episodes)... Dexter comes home to find Zach dead in his apartment. He wraps him up in plastic and throws him into the bay. Did Dr Vogel do it? Ham and Evelyn were last seen when she drove him home from dinner. Me thinks there was never a Brain Surgeon. Its just Evelyn screwing around for some unknown psycho reason. Someone was also speculating online that Elway may be Vogel's son and the Brain Surgeon. I have no idea but if that's true but it would be a fun twist.
- In other boring news: Quinn and Jamie move in together. Masuka's daughter is working at the lab. And Harrison hasn't killed anyone yet (that we know of).
- Favorite quote: "Do not dude me"- Dexter to Ham.
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I'm ready for the show to be over since things are moving so slowly but gave it extra points for fun dialogue. There are 4 episodes to go till the series finale.
