Here's the highlights from episodes 8 (Thicker Than Water) and 9 (The Fourth Hand):- Big Jim is fighting with Ollie (who needs to see a dentist, are there any in Chester Mills)? Junior defects to Ollie's side. He's such as loser. After Big Jim is captured, Ollie is going to let Junior kill him (since he's upset about Jim lying about his mother's death). Junior shoots Ollie instead.
- Norrie is still upset (and reasonably so) about her mother's death. She breaks up with Joe. Angie talks her into getting back together with him. Joe digs a grave for Alice.
- Joe tells Julie about Dome Jr. They go to see it. When Julie touches the dome she sees an image of Joe saying "The monarch will be crowned". If I were Joe, I'd be worried about that. Could this be referring to Angie (who has a butterfly tattoo on her shoulder)? I was hoping for the Queen of England myself.
- A druggie tells Barbie and Linda that he got a drug called "rapture" (which is made from propane) from the recently deceased Reverend. Let's hope no one wants to smoke at the same time. So far there's not much to tie the scheme to Big Jim.
- Angie has the same "pink stars falling in lines" seizure that Joe and Norrie had previously. Later Crazy Junior shows Angie a picture that his mother did (before she killed herself). It has, SURPRISE, pink stars falling from the sky. I'm not Picasso but it looked like a five year old drew that. And Angie, why in God's name are you still hanging out with Junior. You DO remember that he locked you in a storm cellar (and I hear he killed ya in the book).
- A blond lady shows up. She has been hiding since the dome landed (uh ok, where was she hiding... under the bed?). Anyhow, her name is Maxine and she's higher up on the drug dealer food chain than Big Jim. Her luck is not very good though (since she's trapped in Chester Mills too). She's got the goods on both Barbie and Jim (but we don't know any specifics). Max apparently knows Barbie "intimately" (read: bed buddies).
- Dome Jr has relocated itself to a barn (thanks to help from Zombie Joe). The kids all put their hands on it (but they need a "fourth hand" to activate it). OK...
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). I still cant decide how I feel about this show. Sometimes I think it's pretty good and sometimes I'm just "mehhh". Please let me know your thoughts.
